The Marblehead Museum is located 16 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts in Marblehead’s historic district of colonial period homes and buildings. The Jeremiah Lee Mansion, the J.O.J. Frost Gallery, Marblehead History Archives and the   Civil War & G.A.R. Museum are all part of the Marblehead Museum’s exceptional collection of places, artifacts, documents, and photographs that span five centuries of Marblehead history. The Museum was originally established in 1898 as the Historical Society of Marblehead. Recently, the organization became the Marblehead Museum & Historical Society and then simply, the Marblehead Museum, to reflect its museum-quality collection and professional approach to exhibits, research, preservation and education. The Marblehead Museum’s mission is to preserve, protect and promote Marblehead’s unique history. The Museum is an educational resource for residents of Marblehead and visitors and scholars from around the world. It is a private non-profit supported solely by membership dues and contributions. King Hooper Mansion

The entire mansion may be rented and can accommodate up to 125 guests when fully utilized, inside and outside in the garden. Another option is the ability to rent a combination of rooms, floors or the elegant ballroom, which includes the use of the Steinway piano. One of the more popular venues is the historic Tavern Room which can seat up to 50 people and opens to the lovely King Hooper Garden. The garden is meticulously maintained by the Cottage Gardeners of Marblehead and is a perfect setting for an outdoor ceremony, cocktails, al fresco dining or photographs.

Located on Historic Marblehead Harbor, The Landing Restaurant is unique because of it’s beautiful location and fresh, local foods. We are accessible by land or sea and feature spectacular views of Marblehead Harbor from every table in our dining room or from our famous open air deck.

1768 Jeremiah Lee Mansion

The Jeremiah Lee Mansion is a magnificent colonial Georgian home built by American craftsmen in 1768 when Lee was the wealthiest merchant and ship owner in Massachusetts. Preserved in its nearly original state, the house stands as a tribute to both colonial America's strong ties to England and its independent commercial success.
