Charles Movalli: Cape Ann & Beyond

For over forty years, Charles Movalli (1945–2016) was a pillar of Cape Ann’s year-round art community, a distinguished landscape and marine painter, a prolific writer and advocate for the arts, and a widely respected teacher. Women of Essex: Stories to Share at the Essex Shipbuilding Museum

Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop

In this workshop, former North Andover poet laureate Gayle Heney will teach participants how to write poetry using the Museum’s collections as inspiration. As time allows, participants will be introduced to poetry prompts, stanzas, quatrains, ekphrastic poetry and experimental poetry.
