All Hallows Eve is fast approaching and there’s no spookier place to celebrate the holiday–we’re home to the fabled city of Salem after all! Get in the spirit of the holiday with these eerie North of Boston events happening this month.

 

Haunted Happenings: Through October, throughout Salem

Salem Haunted Happenings is a festive celebration of Halloween and fall in New England running annually throughout the month of October. Events include a Grand Parade on October 6, the Haunted Biz Baz Street Fair on October 8, Family Film Nights, costume balls, ghost tours, haunted houses, live music, and chilling theatrical presentations.

 

 

Halloween on the Hill: Through Oct. 31, Long Hill, Beverly

Halloween on the Hill allows visitors to explore the Trustees’ recently rejuvenated property as Long Hill is transformed into a celebration of autumn and the Halloween season. Follow a seasonal-themed trail that will feature more than 1,000 jack-o’-lanterns, hundreds of mums and pumpkins, elaborate Halloween sets, light displays, music, and more.

Sweet Halloween: October 22 & 23: Cider Hill Farm, Amesbury

Join Cider Hill Farm for a not-so-spooky, trick-or-treating experience brimming with sweet treats and boo-tiful fall foliage! Children can wear their favorite costumes and trick or treat around the farm.

“Big Dog Show” Dog Costume Pageant: October 29, Bradford Common, Haverhill
The Whittier Birthplace will host the “Big Dog Show” on the Bradford Common over Halloween weekend, the signature public art exhibition of Haverhill-based metal sculptor, Dale Rogers. Saturday, October 29 features a dog costume pageant where attendees have a chance to vote on the best-dressed American Dog. Again, dogs in costume are a must-see any time of year.

Wicked Night on the Wharf Sinners & Saints Costume Ball: October 29, Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites

Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites presents Wicked Night on the Wharf Sinners & Saints Costume Ball in the hotel’s Maritime Ballroom. Enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres, Mediterranean and crudité stations plus entertainment by Sound City Events DJ Bill DiOrio and a costume contest hosted by Kiss 108’s Billy Costa. 21+.

 

Rockin’ Halloween Dance Party with Wildfire: October 29, Blue Ocean Music Hall, Salisbury

Celebrate Halloween at the Blue Ocean Music Hall with entertainment from the band Wildfire. Come dressed to impress for your chance to win part of the $1000 in cash prizes that will be awarded for best costume. 21+.

 

Halloween Costume Party Cruise: October 29, Beauport Cruiselines, Gloucester

Enjoy a festive Halloween sunset cruise departing from historic Gloucester Harbor and dress up for the occasion while enjoying a decadent dinner with seasonal options including apple pomegranate chicken, butternut squash ravioli, and more.
