Join Paula Richter, museum curator and Cape Ann resident, for an exploration of the Folly Cove Designers’ artistic creativity and practice from 1938 to 1969 and their legacy for artists today.  Led by artist, illustrator, and author, Virginia Lee Burton Demetrios, this 20th-century textile artists’ group grew from modest beginnings to an artists’ guild of national and international significance acclaimed for their linoleum block-printed textiles used as home furnishings, interior decoration, and clothing.

This talk is part of a three-part series celebrating the history of the Folly Cove Designers in association with the special exhibition Designed and Hand-Blocked by the Folly Cove Designers. To learn more, join June Vail on December 2, 2022 for Folly Coves Sketches / Remembering Virginia Lee Burton and CAM’s Assistant Curator, Leon Doucette, for The Formation of Folly Cove on January 14, 2023.
