Come explore the shores of Plum Island with OIT and Bill Sargent. Bill is a consultant for the NOVA Science Series on PBS, a winner of the Boston Globe’s Winship Award and the award-winning author of twenty-seven books about science and the environment (including 5 books about Plum Island). We will begin with a short walk from North Point. Next, we will relax and enjoy a seafood lovers’ lunch by the sea! (vegetarian options available upon request). After lunch we take a 2 hour walk out to the jetty with Bill who will show us a different aspect of the ocean’s landscape, including the Sand Machine, view the dynamic state of erosion and learn what is being done to find a solution to it and explore all things ocean on this barrier island.
