Endicott College is pleased to announce the High School Art Competition 2016 at the Walter J. Manninen Center for the Arts. Sixty Students from 24 area high schools are competing in this prestigious exhibit that runs now through Friday, April 22, 2016.

Gallery hours are Monday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
During the week of March 12-20, gallery hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
A reception and awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.
The public is invited to attend the reception with the Awards Ceremony starting at 5:45 p.m. The Endicott Singers will be presenting works from their most recent performances starting at 5:30 p.m.
The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
The exhibit is juried by Nancy Burns, assistant curator of prints, drawings, and photographs at the Worcester Art Museum. Young artists, whose entries were chosen by their art instructors were invited to participate in this competition and will be awarded a certificate of participation, an opportunity to have their art portfolio reviewed by one of our fine art professors, and a chance at winning one of the many prizes chosen by Nancy Burns, and awarded at the ceremony.
Media included are varied, which makes for an excellent overview of what the talented high school students have been creating this year. The art faculty of these institutions is to be congratulated for their dedication and expertise from which many of their students learn not only the basic art techniques, but the highly technical media as well. The viewer will find ceramics, drawing, 3 D sculpture, glass, and photopolymer photgrauverue, digital and alternative processes in photography, black and white photos, charcoal, oils, mixed media, acrylics, and watercolors.
