The first weekend of December is set aside in anticipation of this very special time of year…the giving and sharing of holiday spirit in Essex. We start Thursday evening with a solemn special ceremony, the lighting of our Memory Tree, in front of Town Hall where we honor our lost loved ones. The town’s childrens bell choir performs in the background.
Friday evening Santa arrives on the Essex River by boat and walks up to the shipyard with a cast of toyland characters.
– Children can sit on Santa’s lap and review their holiday “wish list”
– Woodman’s Clam Chowder

– Munchkins from Dunkin’ Donuts
– Carols by “Sound Waves”
WEATHER CONTINGENCY- Friday evening events will be held at Essex Elementary School in case of inclement weather.
Saturday morning enjoy breakfast with Santa at the Essex Elementary School. Enjoy a pancake breakfast and take a photo with Santa! Cost: $10 per person or $40 for the family. Come join in all the fun! Shop locally and enjoy Essex’s Holiday Open Houses. Many participating businesses will be offering refreshments, discounts and sales, or complimentary gift wrapping. Eat, Shop and Be Merry in Essex!
