The 2019 Rosenberg Artists will present free glassblowing demonstrations on Monday, June 24th featuring Elin Christopherson.
All demonstrations begin at 5:30 pm and take place in The Glassworks Studio at Salem State University, 121 Loring Ave, Ste 750, Salem, Massachusetts 01970. This annual artists residency is made possible through the generous support of Ira and Judy Rosenberg. Admission to the demos is free but seating is limited.
About the artist:
Elin Christopherson has been creating in blown glass since 1983. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Glass from California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California in 1989, and her Graduate degree in Glass at Alfred University in New York.
Christopherson was Glass Technician at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle for four years. She has also worked in various capacities, including gaffer and hot shop coordinator, at the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington since 1991. She has taught glassblowing at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle, The Studio in Corning, Alfred University in New York, Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina, the Pilchuck Glass School and was visiting glass instructor at San Jose State University, California, in 2002. She received five scholarships to study at Pilchuck Glass School and won the Corning prize in 1991 for outstanding student.
Christopherson is Adjunct Professor of Glass at the California College of the Arts. She works and lives in Oakland, California.
