Description: This will be the 4th Gold Star Run for Honor in Saugus, MA held in memory of Scott Procopio who was killed in action 10 years ago in Ramadi Iraq. The 5k/10k race went off without a hitch in 2012, 13 and 14…took a hiatus in 2015 and will be back this May 28th introducing a 15K distance, Kids Fun Run and a whole lot more VALUE for you.
Distances: 5k, 10k, 15k and Kids Fun Run
Courses: All distances start at the same time, split and merge at different points throughout the course. The 15K falls perfect timing for a supported half marathon training run which will be a combination of the 10K and 5K route. All fuel stops will de both water and electrolytes. Walkers and strollers are welcome. (2hour time cap for the 15K)

Swag/Perks: Participants will receive custom designed and distance race bibs and finisher medals. Shirts will be guaranteed to the first 250 registered and a post event Memorial Day Parade that commences at 9:30AM.
More about Scott: Scott was on his second deployment as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, having previously served in Fallujah in 2005. He was killed in action as a result of a roadside bomb on the morning of April 2, 2006 in Ramadi, Iraq.
Beneficiary: 100% of the event proceeds will be allocated to CPL Scott J. Procopio Memorial Scholarship program to provide high school seniors with academic scholarships.
