SALEM — The House of the Seven Gables hosts an afternoon of holiday fun for friends and family on Sunday, Dec. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. All are welcome, free of charge, to enjoy special holiday activities at the Gables’ annual Home for the Holidays event.
Home for the Holidays shows off The House of the Seven Gables at its holiday best. Take a tour of the historic House, make a creative craft, enjoy a cup of cider and a sweet treat, and support the Gable’s Settlement programs by purchasing a decoration from the Settlement Tree. The Living History Lab will offer hands-on history programs.
The gift shop, festive and stocked for the holidays, is open to shoppers in search of unique and heartfelt gifts. Local bestselling author Robert Booth will sign copies of his new book, Mad for Glory: A Heart of Darkness in the War of 1812. Visitors are welcome to talk with Booth and pick up an autographed copy of his book for the history enthusiast on their shopping lists.
Christmas-themed house tours are scheduled, as well. The tours are free for members and Salem residents, and $12.50 for the general public. Christmas house tours are available for the entire month of December during normal operating hours.
The House of the Seven Gables is located at 115 Derby St., Salem, and parking is available. Those interested may call 978-744-0991 for more information, or visit www.7gables.org.
