Improbable Places Poetry Tour at Green Meadows Farm
The next stop on Montserrat College of Art’s Improbable Places Poetry Tour is the Green Meadows Farm on Wednesday, October 28, 7 – 9 pm (656 Asbury Street, South Hamilton, MA).
The tour is Montserrat’s way of bringing together student writers, local poets, area businesses, and enthusiastic listeners to celebrate the power of poetry and community. At each tour stop a new venue and theme is selected. This month’s venue, Green Meadows Farm, is a fertile CSA with a rich history dating back to the 1700’s and the theme is HARVEST/MOON.
A full moon and a farm, huh? That’s right, folks. This night we focus on poems of the earth and poems of the sky. Bring us your celestial or dig deep. As always, we are looking for poems that tell the story of place and time: farm-to-table, harvest work, and hearty crops. Poems about longer nights, Samhain, wax on about a waning gibbous.
Hey, I happen to have a poem that eclipses all my others. How do I participate?Send your HARVEST/MOON submissions firstname.lastname@example.org.The submission deadline is Wed., Oct. 21, so start harvesting!300px-Harvest_moon
I don’t write poetry, but I sure am interested in this tour. Can I still attend the event? Sure! Come early for dinner on the farm – bring a blanket and a picnic at 6:30 and then get cozy by the fire pit, listening to poetry in the moonlight at7pm. The event is free, open to the public, and you will even get to sample some of fine produce of Green Meadows.
Wait! I’ve still got questions! Just talk to Colleen Michaels, Montserrat’s Writing Studio Director. She’s at email@example.com or 978-921-4242 x1277.
