Mahler’s five luscious songs, Rückert Lieder, is set totexts by German Romantic poet Friedrich Rückert, whose tone of far-reaching journeys of the soul and peaceful resignation is captured and amplified in the music. Mezzo Soprano Kara Dugan, a young, brilliant singer praised by the New York Times for her “vocal warmth and rich character,”will be the soloist in the Mahler Songs.
