Newburyport Art presents
2024 Members’ Fall Juried Show
Susan Erony, Juror
Friday, October 25, 2024 – Sunday, November 17, 2024
Newburyport, MA – Newburyport Art (NAA) is proud to present the Members’ Fall Juried Show, juried by artist Susan Erony! This exhibition features 105 artworks across a variety of media and genres, including photography, pastel, watercolor, mixed media reclaimed fabrics and more. Newburyport Art’s annual Fall Juried Show is a favorite among members, you won’t want to miss this! An opening reception will be held on Saturday, October 26th from 4:00 to 6:00pm, with an awards presentation by the NAA board president, Scott Simmons.
This exhibition was juried by Susan Erony, a Gloucester- based artist whose work has focused primarily on history and the human condition, and on the creation of safe visual spaces in a troubling world. Erony has consulted to organizations on issues of art and society, taught, lectured and written on both art history and art practice, and organized exhibitions on subjects ranging from the use of artistic devices in creating prejudice to those showcasing the work of one artist.
Also on view in the Hills Gallery is Falling Apart, Falling Together, a featured artist exhibition by Anne Duncan. Anne’s work explores the experience of falling apart, the uncertainty in between phases and the eventual rise of a new reality. Join Anne for a joint reception with the Members’ Juried Show, on Saturday, October 26th from 4:00 to 6:00pm.
The galleries are free and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00am–5:00pm and Sunday from 1:00pm–5:00pm. Newburyport Art is closed on Mondays. The ground-floor Hills Gallery has an accessible entrance. More information, as well as an online gallery is available at newburyportart.org.
Founded in 1948, Newburyport Art is dedicated to promoting and exhibiting members’ work and to providing art education and access to the visual arts for the entire community.
