Endicott College is pleased to announce Provincetown Artists: A Survey of American Modern to Abstract Art. This is a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the actual art that led to the rise of Provincetown as a world famous art colony. The exhibit includes 71 works of art by 29 artists with a wide range of media from oil paintings, watercolors, sculpture, pastels, to mixed media and drawings. Although these and the other artists’ works can be seen in major museums throughout the nation, rarely has such an overview exhibition been presented outside of Provincetown.
A special event for this exhibition is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20 at 5:00 p.m. with a gallery talk in the Rose Hall by Dr. Robert Anderson – Art Historian, Walter J. Manninen – Collector and Benefactor, and Christine McCarthy – Executive Director of the Provincetown Art Association and Museum. The gallery talk is followed by a hors d’oeurves reception in the Grillo Gallery featuring live music by the Brian Fitzpatrick Trio. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
