Marblehead Little Theatre and Rebel Shakespeare Company once again join forces this summer. We are thrilled to announce the upcoming production of King Lear to be performed at the Marblehead Little Theatre.
The Tragedy of King Lear ties together domestic and political crises. While the setting of the play is far removed from both Shakespeare’s times and ours, the stories of Lear and Gloucester suffering at the hands of their children and losing both personal and civil power reflect anxieties that are quite familiar not only to Shakespeare’s contemporaries but also to the modern audiences.
This production is directed by Christina Easthope, Maeve Harrington, and Ryan Buchanan; it is performed by the members of the Rebel Shakespeare Company Teen Intensive troupe.
The production will run August 24th through 26th (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 pm, and Saturday matinee at 2 pm).
Tickets are $15 per person, general admission, and available on-line at www.mltlive.org
