Known equally for his composing as his trumpet playing, Terence Blanchard has forged an incredibly successful career shaped by a dizzyingly restless musical spirit. The five-time Grammy winner is known to many for his frequent collaborations with filmmaker Spike Lee, but the New Orleans native still has an affinity for the post-bop for which he became known in the early 80’s. Now known as an elder statesman, his style has only broadened, encompassing elements of electronic fusion, Latin and modern R&B.
