An Americana trio with soulful, harmony-soaked vocals and innate melodic gifts, The Lone Bellow makes its Rockport debut! The Nashville (by way of Brooklyn) group are touring on the back of their Dave Cobb-produced album Walk into a Storm.
The Lone Bellow, featuring Zach Williams (guitar/vocals), Kanene Donehey Pipkin (multi-instrumentalist), and Brian Elmquist (guitar), burst onto the scene out of Brooklyn with their self-titled debut in 2013. Of the record, Entertainment Weekly called it “One of the top reasons to love country music in 2013” and it landed on several year-end Top Ten lists. They soon became known for their transcendent harmonies, serious musicianship and raucous live performance — a reputation that earned them a rabid fan base and invitations to pop festivals and viral video sessions like NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts.
It’s been three years since the band’s victorious sophomore record Then Came the Morning was released. Produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner, the album was nominated for an Americana Music Award, buoyed by the radio success of singles “Take My Love” and the title track. The band appeared on many of the late night talk shows including Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Show with David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, CBS This Morning, Later…with Jools Holland, and The Late Late Show with James Corden in support of the album.
In the years since the release, the band left their beloved adopted home of Brooklyn and moved to Nashville. Now, The Lone Bellow is back with Walk into a Storm, which was released in September of 2017 on Sony Music Masterworks. Walk into a Storm was produced by legendary music producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, and more) and features their lead single “Time’s Always Leaving.”
