Come to the Hammond Castle Museum for a “bird’s eye view” of the Birds of Prey of New England on August 13, with a live bird presentation and discussion from Wingmasters. This program is designed to explain predation, the birds’ place at the top of the food web, their different hunting adaptations and their status in a rapidly changing world. Because many birds of prey are declining in number, this presentation also features one or more of the endangered raptors that Wingmasters cares for, and explains why these species face an uncertain future. Raptors include hawks, falcons and owls, and this presentation, which incorporates 6 live birds of prey, all native to New England, gives an overview of these different categories. There are two sessions available for this presentation: 10:00am and 12:00pm. Please choose your preferred time when purchasing tickets. $20 adults, $10 children 6-12, children 5 & under free.
