First prize winner at the 2018 Dublin International Piano Competition, Sae-Yoon Chon has won numerous awards including 1st Prize at the Jeonbuk International Music Festival (2010), the Suri competition (2010), the Segyetimes competition (2010), and the Concours of the Piano Society of Korea (2010).
He began studying at the Yewon School in Korea when he was ten years old. His current teacher is Hyoung-Joon Chang. In the five years since he began lessons at this school, Sae-Yoon has enjoyed performing many recitals and won several awards. In February 2011, Sae-Yoon played a solo recital resulting from his win at the prodigy audition of the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation. Sae-Yoon loves sports and spends free time swimming, playing soccer, hiking, and short-track skating.
