SUMMARY:The Battle of Gloucester Reenactment
DESCRIPTION:History will once again come alive on the shores of Gloucester next summer\, as the organizers who hosted the successful Battle of Bunker Hill 250 reenactment come together to commemorate the lesser-known Battle of Gloucester\, an early naval skirmish during the Revolutionary War that led directly to the creation of the U.S. Navy. \nThe commemorative events\, including battle reenactments by land and sea and historical interpretations of life in 18th-century Gloucester\, will be held on Saturday\, June 20\, and Sunday\, June 21\, 2026\, at Stage Fort Park. \nAs our country celebrates America250 in 2026\, this reenactment will be one of the premier events in Massachusetts honoring the birth of the U.S. Navy. \nImage credit: Battle of Gloucester

DESCRIPTION:Shuttle departs the NAHS Stevens Center museum at 1pm – please select tickets for the time you wish to depart. Each tour takes approximately 1.5-2 hours \nJoin us again for the Old Andover Revolution Shuttle Tour\, a special collaboration between the North Andover Historical Society and the Andover Center for History and Culture! \nEmbark on an adventure through our shared heritage as we bring our two towns\, once united during the American Revolution\, back together for a day of family-friendly learning and fun. \nExplore historical sites in “old” Andover that stood in 1775 and 1776 and helped to shape our nation’s journey to independence. Our experienced guides will share captivating stories and insights of our local connections to the revolution. \nConnect with your neighbors and foster a sense of pride in our intertwined past and the aspirations of ordinary people in our towns in 1775 and 1776 who fought for liberty\, equality and justice against the tyrannical rule of the English. \nBathroom breaks are encouraged at the NAHS Stevens Center since there are no stops along the route. Stop by for breakfast or lunch at Diane’s Café on the Common before or after your tour!
