DESCRIPTION:To celebrate Pride Month\, the Cape Ann Museum is hosting its first Pride Family Picnic at the Cape Ann Museum Green (CAM Green) as part of Cape Ann Pride Weekend. The free event will be held on Sunday\, June 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. and will feature fun for the whole family through books\, art\, and music. \nFamilies are invited to bring their own blankets to enjoy Rainbow Story Time\, the Genders of the Sea\, and music from Jammin’ with You on the CAM Green campus\, located at 13 Poplar St. in Gloucester off Grant Circle. There will also be a curated collection of LGBTQ+ stories with Sawyer Free Library\, art activities\, and free lunches made available by The Open Door. Registration is required. Hear from Marie Watt about her work and inspiration\, see a Jingle Dance performance by world champion dancer Acosia Red Elk (Umatilla Nation) and enjoy a themed brunch in the Atrium Café. \nOutside the museum and throughout the downtown area\, the Salem Arts Festival offers art making\, dance performances\, live music and more. Don’t miss the live mural slam on Artists’ Row! \nArts and culture are an integral part of day-to-day life in Salem\, and this annual festival has become a source of pride and inspiration for the city. Join us as we support and celebrate the creative community in Salem. \nPEM is proud to partner with Salem Main Streets and the Creative Collective. \nThe PEM Prize recognizes artists whose work explores the catalytic relationship between creativity and civic engagement.
