In 2020 he became a make-up artist on HBO’s drag makeover series We’re Here for which he won the EMMY award for “Outstanding Makeup for a Variety\, Nonfiction or Reality Program” in 2022. “Homecoming” marks Laila’s first performance in Gloucester since 2019. \nTenderoni is a Springfield\, MA born\, Chicago based\, nationally renowned Drag King known for his throwback high-energy performances and rhinestoned looks. He was the first Drag King to ever perform at Lollapalooza and was the winner of Alaska Thunderfuck’s Drag Queen of the Year Pageant in 2021. He has been featured in The New York Times\, national campaigns for Youtube\, and Vogue Brasil as well as pride campaigns with Skittles\, Smirnoff and Taco Bell. Most recently\, Tenderoni has been nominated for a Queerty Award in the Drag Royalty category.

Learn about the origins of Chinese traditions such as dances\, lanterns\, lucky tangerines\, and rattle drums through crafts and performance. \nWe are excited to welcome a company of youth performers from the Wah Lum Kung Fu & Tai Chi Academy of Malden\, Massachusetts to perform the Lion Dance in honor of the New Year. The Lion Dance is meant to attract good luck and chase away evil spirits for the upcoming year. \nNote: This program will be held in the function hall at the First Church of Wenham\, which is across the street from the Wenham Museum. This is because the LEGO Train will be setting up in our space for the weekend! You may park on Arbor Street next to the First Church or in the Wenham Museum/Town Hall lot and cross Rt. 1A. There is a light and crosswalk at the Post Office\, which we highly recommend you use to cross the street! \nThis is a FREE community event! Crafts will be available while supplies last.
