SUMMARY:Gloucester Speaks film screening
DESCRIPTION:8/11/24\nAll Ages (Under 18 must be accompanied by a parent. 18 & over must have Positive. I.D). 7:00pm doors / 7:45pm start\nGeneral Admission Seating\, $15 \nThe filmmaker\, Shep Abbott will be in attendance for a Q & A following the film. \nIn 2015\, we began production on “Gloucester Speaks” in advance of our 400th Anniversary\, to record in a video documentary the voices and activities of our citizens during this disruptive period of change. The reduction of traditional fish stocks and resulting strict state regulations on fishermen has led to social\, cultural and economic challenges never before experienced by the oldest fishing port in America. Beginning in 1606\, when Samuel de Champlain named Gloucester Harbor “Le Beauport”\, Gloucester\, through the voices of its citizens\, speaks to the enormity of our reliance on one of the world’s greatest fisheries\, revealing the towering achievements and innovations\, along with the slow but sure depletion of the fishery through advances in technology and the pressure of demand\, along with the effects of pollution and global warming. In this documentary\, covering the eight years leading up to 2023\, as well as the 400 years preceding it\, the citizens tell the story of a great American City’s unique struggle to remain true to Le Beauport.

SUMMARY:The Rock and Roll Playhouse Plays the Music of the Beatles
DESCRIPTION:08/18/24\nG.A. Standing 11:00am doors / 12:00pm show\nAll Ages\, $17 ADV/$20 DOS (children under 1 free) \nThe Rock and Roll Playhouse\, a family concert series hosted at historic music venues across the country\, allows kids to “move\, play and sing while listening to works from the classic-rock canon” (NY Times). Performing songs created by the most iconic musicians in rock history\, The Rock and Roll Playhouse band offers its core audience of families with children age ten and under games\, movement\, stories and an opportunity to rock out in an effort to educate children and explore their creativity. The Rock and Roll Playhouse is an early and often first introduction to a child’s lifelong journey with live music and rock and roll. This children’s concert is not associated with or endorsed by the artist. See you at the show! \nThis concert for kids and families shares the music of the artist named above with a new generation of music lovers\, but is not associated with or endorsed by the artist. All children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.\nThe Rock and Roll Playhouse knows that little ears are sensitive\, so we turn down the volume at our shows. However\, all kids experience music differently and you may find that your child is more comfortable wearing hearing protection earmuffs\, such as Baby Banz\, which are available for purchase here. \nBy attending this event\, I consent to my image (with or without my voice) being included in photographs and/or film and videotape of the event\, and give the venue\, The Rock and Roll Playhouse and their respective licensees and assigns the absolute and irrevocable right and permission to use and publish such content in any and all media\, whether now known or hereafter developed.

Tantalizing sounds\, and mesmerizing illusions catapult audiences into an emotional roller-coaster of fear and joy\, laugher\, and wonder with raving cheers for a “Mad Graveyard Clown.” \nThe 90-minute production is an immersive ride through the Underworld and Vampires. The Vampire Circus was inspired by the magical\, captivating allure of legendary traveling carnivals — and a vision of Francisco Santos\, CEO founder and Cirque Du Soleil veteran performer. \nSet in Bohemia during the 19th century\, Count Dracula contemplates a plan for world domination\, when he decides to open a traveling circus with his gypsy bodyguards. The Vampire Circus is a perfect cover-up to travel unnoticed and begin his world reign of terror and turn all humans into an army of vampires for global dominance. \nThe Vampire Circus is a journey that takes audiences into an immersive experience\, plunging guests into a deep hypnotic state while “breaking the fourth wall.” With Vampire Circus\, audiences are fully integrated into what is happening in front of them\, surrounding them\, and at times “inside” of them. \nThe Vampire Circus will delight the senses and deliver the unexpected. As the moon comes out the magical mystique of the Vampire World begins. \nCome meet the Vampires. We will leave the lights off for you!!
