This includes: \n-Little Sprout Kids Korner (Kids activities and craft station)\n-Storytime at 11 am and 2 pm\n-Little Sprouts in the Garden Education Cart\n-Self-Guided Historic House Tours (Available 10:30 am-4:30 pm)\n-Sensory-Friendly Nature Scavenger Hunt\n-Daily Garden Tours at Noon (approx. 30 minutes)\n-Food and Coffee Vendors\n-Yard Games in our Event Lawn\n-Bulb Information Station \nMother nature can be tricky\, so we appreciate your understanding that the bulbs bloom on their own timeline! The property entrance for Stevens-Coolidge House & Garden is located at 153 Chickering Road\, North Andover MA. \nIs the site wheelchair or stroller accessible? Stevens-Coolidge has accessible crushed stone pathways that are present throughout the property. Off the paths\, the grounds are uneven grass. \nAre dogs allowed? No\, in order to protect our gardens dogs are not allowed on our public garden properties at any time. \nIs the interior of the property open to the public during this event? Yes\, our historic house will be open for a self-guided tour experience. Our Knowledgeable Guides will be available to answer any questions you may have while in the house.

SUMMARY:Coastal Lecture: Awareness Inspires Conservation
DESCRIPTION:As our coastlines change\, the areas where sharks visit along the coast is changing. With all the shark-tivity in 2024\, the team at Crane Beach has been working with experts to learn more about these important top predators\, and what their presence means for the health of our coastlines. \nOne of the groups we’ve been collaborating with is the The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy (AWSC)\, a nonprofit organization supporting scientific research\, educating the community\, and improving public safety. AWSC strives to increase knowledge of Atlantic white sharks to change public perception and conserve the species and ensure biologically diverse marine ecosystems. \nJoin us for a lecture with AWSC Community Engagement Manager Kristen Smith. To learn about ongoing white shark research projects being conducted and funded by the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy\, how that research is impacting conservation and public safety efforts\, and up to date information on what that research has taught us. Audience members will have an opportunity to view videos and photographs during the research season and develop their knowledge of what a shark is and what it takes to conduct white shark research. \nAt the end of the program\, audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn how they can get involved in shark and ocean conservation. \nAbout our speaker: \nKristen Smith works as the Community Engagement Manager for the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy (AWSC). Kristen attended Coastal Carolina University from where she received her degree in Marine Science and aided in her university’s shark research program. Kristen has been with the AWSC since 2016. In her role\, she coordinates and manages a variety of initiatives\, including educational programs\, community outreach efforts\, the college internship program\, and social media campaigns. Kristen has been featured on platforms such as the Today Show\, Channel 7 News Boston\, and Good Morning America. These appearances have highlighted AWSC’s white shark ecotourism program and public safety initiatives related to white sharks. \nThe Atlantic White Shark Conservancy (AWSC) is a nonprofit organization supporting scientific research\, educating the community\, and improving public safety surrounding white sharks. DESCRIPTION:Cut flower gardens are all the rage these days! Join Stevens-Coolidge’s own horticulturist\, Kaela Robinson\, for a workshop class that will take you from planning and sowing\, to cutting and arranging from your very own cut flower garden. \nKaela will show you step-by-step how to create the perfect ‘Cut and come again’ cutting patch from start to finish\, covering everything from how to assess your site and choose your color palette to how to choose plants to balance flower and foliage and how to plan your ‘spring’ and ‘summer’ schemes. Participants will leave ready to build and nurture their own cutting garden and with some annual seed packets to get started. \nFrom her extensive research and experience designing the Stevens-Coolidge cutting gardens\, Kaela will share her favorite annuals\, biennials\, and perennials\, and will provide guidance on the key gardening tasks across the seasons\, offering technical tips and tricks for encouraging healthy plant development and bountiful growth. Participants are encouraged to bring an aerial image of their property as an exercise in ideal cutting garden/patch placement. Romano and his work were larger-than-life\, and his concern for the human condition was the focus of most if not all of his artwork. Susan Erony will present on Romano’s work for the Federal Arts Program. \nSusan Erony is an artist in Gloucester\, whose work focuses on issues of humanity. She has exhibited extensively in Europe\, Canada\, and United States\, and her work is in numerous public and private collections. She has toured across the globe\, acting as an ambassador of American music on behalf of the US State Department by performing and teaching in India\, Kazakhstan\, Uzbekistan\, Bangladesh\, Estonia\, Greece\, Ukraine\, and Montenegro. Now\, she holds space and builds community for musicians in Belgium as the co-founder of the monthly Bright Lights Session in Ghent. As always\, her vision is as expansive as her background. “We’re working to basically write a new folk tradition\,” she says. Were it anyone else\, you’d think it impossible.
