SUMMARY:Dueling Pianos!
DESCRIPTION:06/26/24\nPartial Seating/G.A. Standing 7:00pm doors / 8:00pm show\n21+\, Positive I.D. Required $20 \nIt has been said that a dueling piano show is quite literally “the most fun one can\nhave with one’s clothes ON! Two grand pianos are center-stage with a team of outrageously talented pianists that seem to know every song ever written. \nEach show is different because it’s all request and you or your friends might even\nget called up on stage for a bit of good humored fun and some unforgettable u-\ntube moments.Think YOU won’t sing along? Just TRY not too…. I dare ya! \nDueling piano shows are request oriented\, interactive sing-a-long shows wherein\ntwo piano players sit across from each other and trade songs. The dueling piano audience is used for the dueling aspect of the show. Audience members are pitted one-side-against-the-other. Examples of rivalries include country vs. rock\, men against women\, etc.

SUMMARY:Buffalo Nichols
DESCRIPTION:6/25/24\n21+\, Positive I.D. Required. 7:00pm Doors / 8:00p Show \nOn his second album\, The Fatalist\, Carl “Buffalo” Nichols does things with the blues that might catch you off guard. There’s 808 programming\, chopped up Charley Patton samples\, washes of synth. There’s a consideration of the fullness of the sonic stage and the atmospherics of the music that can only come with a long engagement with electronic music. But this is no gimmicky hybrid or attempt to turn the blues into 21st century music by simply dressing it with skittering hi-hats. Nichols’ vision for the blues is of a form of music that’s intimately tied to everyday life in 2023\, something that’s reflected not only in the choice of instrumentation\, but in the complexities of the songwriting and the gray areas his lyrics explore. This is music that comes straight from the present\, and as such\, it’s a reminder that the same shit that drove the first blues singers to pick up a guitar is still present behind the throbs of deep bass hits today. The Fatalist sounds unlike any blues record you’re likely to hear in 2023.

DESCRIPTION:6/23/2024\nPartial Seating and G.A. Standing. 7:00p Doors / 8:00p Show\n21+\, Positive I.D. Required. $20-$25 \nAfter a dizzying five-year span that saw the release of two stunning\, eclectic albums (Hard Won and Vanity\, which drew praise from the likes of Billboard and Rolling Stone) — followed by appearances at AmericanaFest\, the Newport Folk Festival\, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass\, and SXSW\, and tours with Iron and Wine\, Son Little\, and Adia Victoria — Lizzie No found herself at the forefront of a new vanguard of genre-defying artists. Her new album\, Halfsies (Thirty Tigers / Miss Freedomland)\, finds No situated among her peers while still searching for freedom — freedom from the constraints of categorization\, sure\, but more importantly\, freedom from the depths of her own personal despair and from an increasingly violent and nightmarish American cultural and political landscape.

SUMMARY:The Mavericks – Moon & Stars Summer Tour ‘24
DESCRIPTION:Any band that manages to survive three decades\, seeing its core members go from young adults to veteran musicians is bound to have its swings and cycles. \nThe Mavericks\, the eclectic rock and country group known for crisscrossing musical boundaries with abandon\, has gone through three distinct phases since it was founded in Miami in 1989. An initial period of heady success marked by big hits and critical acclaim in the ‘90s. A long hiatus starting 2003 when the musicians each went their own way. And finally\, a triumphant reunion in 2012 which held long enough for them to recently celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary.
