SUMMARY:Hike & Seek: Magic in the Winter Forest
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered what happens in nature during the winter months? Do you have questions like\, “where do certain animals go” or “why does it snow”? Join us this February school vacation for this self-guided winter themed family-friendly bundle for use along the Stevens-to-Stevens trail in North Andover to discover the magic within the Winter forest. \nParticipants will be emailed an activity bundle to help them look for clues along the trail and work as a team to discover the tiny world beneath their feet and under their nose. This is a self-guided program. Pre-registration required to receive downloadable bundle of winter themed created activities\, including maps\, scavenger hunt\, crafts\, additional reading list and recipes. \nThe special trail will run from February 16 to March 1. Please use your bundle on any day of your choosing. Please note: the Stevens-to-Stevens trail is less traveled than our major trails and snow drifts may occur. SUMMARY:CraneOutdoors: King Tide Hike and Climate Cafe
DESCRIPTION:This high tide is royalty! Here’s your chance to see the king….tide that is. Join us for a hike to learn about extreme high tides\, known as king tides\, which are happening more often due to environmental change. These extreme tides have a variety of impacts on coastal infrastructure\, including restricted access on low lying roads\, flooded buildings\, and impacts of erosion\, debris\, and salt-water intrusion/damage. The king tide also provides us with a window to the future\, illustrating what an average high tide might look like in a few decades due to sea level rise. On this hike you will learn what causes king tides\, see the tidal impacts first-hand\, and learn what The Trustees are doing to increase the coastal resilience of our treasured coastal environments. \nPlease be prepared for a moderately strenuous 1-2 mile hike over gravel trails\, grass\, and soft sand\, with some elevation gain. \nProgram Refunds/Cancellations: In the event that a program is cancelled due to severe weather\, low enrollment\, or other circumstances\, we will notify you as soon as possible by email and issue you a full refund within 14 days of the cancellation. If you cannot attend a program as planned\, contact the Trustees property 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund or to be rebooked into a future available event. Refunds will not be granted for registration cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program for any reason. There are no refunds for missed events or late arrivals. The Trustees reserves the right to change program locations\, schedules\, or instructors when necessary. Note: Summer Camps and our inns and campgrounds each have separate cancellation policies. \nThe starting location and other relevant details for all hikes\, kayak paddles\, and boat trips will be emailed to registrants approximately 24 hours before the event start at the address provided upon registration. Please note that registration closes 24 hours before the start of the event and we will not be able to accommodate walk-ins or on-site sales. Thank you for understanding.
