SUMMARY:Cape Ann Shakespeare Troupe presents Laugh Out Loud
DESCRIPTION:Cape Ann Shakespeare Troupe (CAST) kicks off its 2026-27 season with Laugh Out Loud. Shakespeare’s quote “Prepare for mirth\, for mirth becomes a feast.” aptly describes this feast of modern one-act comedies: Base Model Man and Who Ate the Cheetos? by Kevin Perrin of the Gloucester Writers Center\, and Black Comedy by Peter Shaffer. \nBase Model Man\, directed by Alexis Armstrong\, imagines a dealership where a woman shops for the perfect man with available upgrades such as “willing to share housework” and “actually listens”. Directed by Billy Lewand\, Who Ate the Cheetos? is an eight minute comedy in which a simple family mystery erupts into a full-blown courtroom style confrontation a la A Few Good Men. In the classic farce Black Comedy\, directed by Mark Efinger\, a young artist and his fiancée secretly furnish their apartment with a neighbor’s expensive antiques before meeting her intimidating military father. When the electricity fails and unexpected guests arrive – a suspicious neighbor\, a nervous spinster\, a talkative electrician\, and an old girlfriend—the comic chaos escalates. \nPerforming from November 5th-8th and 12th-15th\, all performances are at The Natti-Willsky Performance Center: Home of Gloucester Stage Company\, 267 East Main Street\, Gloucester. Showtimes are Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 3:00pm. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the box office at 978-281-4433.

SUMMARY:Not So Faust
DESCRIPTION:Perhaps you are familiar with Goethe or Marlowe’s tales of “Faust\,” both brooding epics of a scholar who sells his soul to the devil in exchange for knowledge. As the title suggests\, this version is “Not So Faust!”. Jill Rogati (director) revisits the original story in the style of Commedia dell’arte – a traditional Italian form of theatre that uses masks\, physical comedy\, and playful improvisation to make a solemn subject incredibly silly. While philosophy and stern contemplation of the complex nature of humanity certainly have a place\, “Not So Faust!” seeks to show that loosening our belts and laughing at ourselves is just what the Doctor ordered.

SUMMARY:The Clements Brothers Present A Paul Simon Tribute
DESCRIPTION:Experience the timeless music of Paul Simon with The Clements Brothers in a captivating quartet tribute filled with soaring harmonies and exceptional musicianship. George Clements brings the music vividly to life\, drawing on his experience portraying Paul Simon in the national tour of The Simon & Garfunkel Story. \nThe Clements Brothers are George and Charles Clements\, identical twins from New England. They’ve been playing and writing music together for as long as they can remember and ‘The Clements Brothers’ marks their first project together since playing in the internationally touring grass-roots band\, ‘The Lonely Heartstring Band’ with whom they put out two albums on Rounder Records. With roots\, rock\, bluegrass\, jazz\, and classical influences\, George (on guitar) and Charles (on bass) aim to capture their singer-songwriter sensibilities in a unique blended voice\, at once enthralling and intimate\, groovy and serene. Their first album ‘Dandelion Breeze’ was released in 2023 on Plow Man Records and their sophomore record is set to be released in the Fall of 2026. The duo is a fusion of each brother’s unique musical journey\, and the result is music all its own\, filled with vocal harmonies\, instrumental virtuosity\, and a genuine love of song.

SUMMARY:An Evening with Marc Roberge (of O.A.R.)
DESCRIPTION:As frontman for multi-platinum-selling rock band O.A.R.\, Marc Roberge has performed for sold-out crowds at some of the world’s most iconic venues while helping build a remarkably devoted global fanbase. Three decades into O.A.R.’s career\, the New York City-based singer/songwriter/guitarist has also developed a distinct identity as a solo performer. \nRoberge’s solo shows trade the full-band energy of O.A.R. for an intimate\, stripped-back setting\, featuring reimagined O.A.R. favorites\, select covers and candid conversation with the audience. The format puts a spotlight on the deeply personal storytelling that has been central to his songwriting since O.A.R.’s formation in 1996. \nInspired in part by the tradition of classic country and folk troubadours\, Roberge continues to explore the more lyrical and roots-oriented side of his songwriting through his solo work.

SUMMARY:Haley Heynderickx
DESCRIPTION:Following the release of her acclaimed debut I Need to Start a Garden and its long-awaited follow-up Seed of a Seed\, Haley Heynderickx recently released What of Our Nature\, a collaboration with Max García Conover. After a year of touring with Max and working on new material\, she now returns to the road for a rare run of solo performances. \nOne of contemporary folk’s most quietly captivating voices\, Heynderickx writes with warmth\, wit and self-reflection. Her songs find wonder in the everyday while exploring questions of identity\, belonging and our relationship with the natural world. Tender\, thoughtful and quietly spellbinding\, these shows are an invitation to step into the unknown with her and leave a little room for what may come next.
