SUMMARY:The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) 50th Anniversary Screening with Original Cast & Crew
DESCRIPTION:Presented By Shadows of Salem Horror & Paranormal Convention \nCome celebrate 50 years of a rip roaring chain saw from Texas with screams of excitement and praise to honor the members of the original cast and crew for the years of horrifying nightmares! \nFeaturing…\nJohn Dugan “Grandpa” \nEd Guinn “The Truck Driver” \nEd Neil “The Hitchhiker” \nDaniel Pearl\, Cinematographer \nIn 1973 a small group of film students in Texas conjured a story and a small amount of money to create a film so shocking and violent that they left a permanent scar on celluloid and the public conscience\, forever changing cinematic history. \nThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre was unleashed unto the world in October of 1974 by Director Tobe Hooper and co-written with producer Kim Henkel\, the film stars Marilyn Burns\, Paul A. Partain\, Terri McMinn\, Allen Danziger\, William Vail\, Edwin Neal\, Jim Siedow\, John Dugan and Gunnar Hansen as Leatherface. Upon release\, the film was deemed so violent that it received an X rating and was banned in multiple countries. Contributing to the response was the billing of the film as a “true story”\, which was a marketing ploy to further affect audiences in an effort to attract more movie goers. \nWhat is impressive about the reception and filmmaking talents is that there is very little to no blood in the film which had audiences react in visceral ways as some passed out in their seats while others were sent running for the doors in shock and disgust. \nThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre is widely revered as one of the greatest and most controversial films of all time! \nOver the past 50 years\, the film as been recognized for its lasting presence and genre defining qualities. It has crushed endless Top 10 lists over the decades and in turn\, easily inspiring generations of filmmakers to create their own Versions of terror to be endured for future audiences. \n“As violent and gruesome and blood-soaked as the title promises” – Roger Ebert\n“A work of cataclysmic terror” – Stephen King\n“What kind of Mansonite Crazoid could have come up with such a thing” – Wes Craven \nThis presentation is the opening night of Shadows of Salem Horror & Paranormal Convention taking place in Salem\, MA October 19 and 20. For more information on the Convention\, go to theshadowsofsalem.com or email info@theshadowsofsalem.com.

SUMMARY:An Evening with Robert Ellis Orrall with an afterparty featuring Funbucket
DESCRIPTION:10/17/24\nReserved seating and G.A. Standing 7:00pm doors / 7:30pm show\n21+\, Positive I.D. Required $15-30 \nJoin us for a night of stories and songs from renowned songwriter and producer Robert Ellis Orrall. He and his original band from the 80’s will be playing songs he wrote for and with Taylor Swift\, Reba McEntire\, Lindsay Lohan\, Michael McDonald and hundreds of other legendary artists. \nWhen RCA Records signed Robert Ellis Orrall in 1980 he had his dream band: Kook Lawry on guitar\, Don Walden on bass and David Stefanelli on the drums. 44 years later they are back on the road and in the studio. Part of a New Wave of Boston artists that included The Stompers\, Jon Butcher Axis\, Til Tuesday and The Neighborhoods\, REO rocked legendary venues like The Rat\, The Paradise and The Orpheum Theater. The band’s critically acclaimed albums\, “Fixation”\, “Contain Yourself”\, and “Special Pain” were recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales with producer Roger Bechirian (Elvis Costello\, Squeeze)\, and supported with tours opening for U2\, The Kinks\, Psychedelic Furs and countless others. And their Top 40 smash hit with Carlene Carter “I Couldn’t Say No” still stands\nas an 80’s classic. \nWhen Robert moved to Nashville to write and produce\, Kook\, Don and David lent their talents to artists like Peter Wolf (J. Geils)\, Barry Goudreau & Brad Delp (Boston)\, Carlene Carter\, Brian Maes\, Nick Lowe and many more. \nRobert Ellis Orrall has had over 350 songs (and five #1 songs) cut around the world and soundtracked in TV and movies llke “The Bourne Identity”\, “Hannah Montana” and “Freaky Friday”. He produced tracks for Love and Theft\, Cake Bake Betty and Taylor Swift’s 10X Platinum debut and followup EP. \nThe band regrouped to reminisce\, tour and record “467 Surf And Gun Club”\, an album John Hiatt called “absolutely joyful”\, Michael McDonald called “relevant and timeless’\, and said American Songwriter “The melodies\, counter melodies\, and killer performances constitute a unique\nblend of ‘60s-pop-meets-modern-indie songwriting.” \nThe band is touring from now to forever\, playing songs from all of their albums and albums to come\, listed below. The old cliche “Let’s get the band back together” has come to life with these four best friends playing\ntheir best music.

SUMMARY:Period. The End?
DESCRIPTION:*COMEDY SHOW* \nPeriod.The End? is for anyone with or around someone with a uterus (which basically means: this is for everyone). This live event is centered on menopause\, perimenopause\, and the mental and physical impact it has on our bodies. \nProduced and hosted by Erin LaPlante and Stephanie Lazenby (of the comedy series\, Couch to Mic)\, the evening will be part performance\, part panel discussion\, all joy and empowerment. \nErin and Steph created Period. The End? with the mutual realization that generational silence around menopause\, periods\, childbirth\, hormonal rage and incontinence is the root cause of shame and stigma. \nPeriod. The End? begins with original theatrical pieces by actor/activist Sandi Clark and comedian Monica Dorley\, and features the dynamic performer Sara Juli – whose stage work includes Tense Vagina: An Actual Diagnosis. \nThen Erin and Steph channel their inner Oprah\, moderating an exciting discussion with Dr. Sonja Nelson\, OBGYN; and Krista Haapala\, author\, artist and therapist. They’ll respond to pre-submitted questions from the audience about every aspect of perimenopause and menopause including sex\, hormones\, no hormones\, positive aspects of menopause\, and so much more!
