Enjoy the explosive and effervescent sound hailed by All About Jazz as “a beautiful\, exotic\, ear-opening listening experience.” \nArun Ramamurthy Trio (ART) brings together South Indian classical Carnatic music and contemporary jazz. Boundaries are blurred in this organic and seamless integration of styles as the group expands on traditional forms in explosive\, improvisational flights of fancy. The trio freely explores the kindred spirit of raga music and jazz\, resulting in a deeply invigorating and spiritual experience. ART’s collaborative sound is driven by the dynamic rhythm section of drummer Sameer Gupta & and electric bassist Damon Banks. Arun’s original work tells stories of migration and cultural connection. His commissioned work from CMA’s New Jazz Works\, “New Moon Suite” shines a light on the teachings and wisdom of our ancestors\, and the lessons we take on our own personal journeys. On the tour\, you will see four rooms within the Patton Homestead that are filled with military memorabilia\, family heirlooms\, photography\, books\, and papers that comprise a collection known as the Patton Family Archives. These Archives are also an untapped\, unparalleled resource regarding the service and sacrifice of Maj. Gen. Patton and his troops during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and that of his wife\, Joanne Holbrook Patton\, on the home front. \nGuided tours are offered at select dates and times and are available only by advanced online reservation through the Wenham Museum. Tours are approximately one hour in length and include time for questions. Payment is required at the time of booking. \nFALL TOUR DATES\nSaturday\, September 28\, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.\nSaturday\, October 19\, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. \nTours are $15.00 for members of the Wenham Museum and $20.00 for nonmembers. DESCRIPTION:Presented By Shadows of Salem Horror & Paranormal Convention \nCome celebrate 50 years of a rip roaring chain saw from Texas with screams of excitement and praise to honor the members of the original cast and crew for the years of horrifying nightmares! \nFeaturing…\nJohn Dugan “Grandpa” \nEd Guinn “The Truck Driver” \nEd Neil “The Hitchhiker” \nDaniel Pearl\, Cinematographer \nIn 1973 a small group of film students in Texas conjured a story and a small amount of money to create a film so shocking and violent that they left a permanent scar on celluloid and the public conscience\, forever changing cinematic history. \nThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre was unleashed unto the world in October of 1974 by Director Tobe Hooper and co-written with producer Kim Henkel\, the film stars Marilyn Burns\, Paul A. Partain\, Terri McMinn\, Allen Danziger\, William Vail\, Edwin Neal\, Jim Siedow\, John Dugan and Gunnar Hansen as Leatherface. Upon release\, the film was deemed so violent that it received an X rating and was banned in multiple countries. Contributing to the response was the billing of the film as a “true story”\, which was a marketing ploy to further affect audiences in an effort to attract more movie goers. \nWhat is impressive about the reception and filmmaking talents is that there is very little to no blood in the film which had audiences react in visceral ways as some passed out in their seats while others were sent running for the doors in shock and disgust. \nThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre is widely revered as one of the greatest and most controversial films of all time! \nOver the past 50 years\, the film as been recognized for its lasting presence and genre defining qualities. DESCRIPTION:Classical pianist Daniel Adam Maltz is traveling to Marblehead all the way from Vienna to play the music of Mozart\, Beethoven\, and Haydn on a reproduction 18th Century piano based on Mozart’s own instrument. \nThis one-of-a-kind musical event will be performed on October 18 and 19 in the King Hooper Ballroom at the Marblehead Arts Association. It is co-hosted by the Marblehead Museum. \nDaniel studied historical performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London and at Vienna’s University for Music and Performing Arts\, and he made his Carnegie Hall debut at age 22.
