SUMMARY:Rockport Music Presents Bre Kennedy
DESCRIPTION:Bre Kennedy is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter acclaimed for her introspective storytelling and evocative performances. Her work has been praised by Billboard\, Paste\, American Songwriter\, and featured on key Spotify playlists including New Music Friday and Today’s Singer-Songwriters.\nKnown for her powerful live shows\, she has headlined sold-out performances at Nashville staples like Exit/In\, The Basement East\, The Blue Room\, and supported artists such as NEEDTOBREATHE\, Stephen Wilson Jr.\, The Paper Kites\, Joy Oladokun and Sheryl Crow at the Ryman Auditorium. As a songwriter\, she has collaborated with industry standouts including Jake Wesley Rogers and Lori McKenna\, with whom she co-wrote the acclaimed track “Before I Have a Daughter.” Her forthcoming fourth studio album\, The Alchemist\, released on January 30th 2026 marks a new creative chapter—an unflinchingly honest and artfully crafted body of work shaped by personal growth\, emotional clarity\, and a renewed sense of purpose. \nCreated in collaboration with trusted co-writers including Melissa Fuller\, Ben West\, Michigander\, Hadley Kennary\, Micah Tawlks\, Cheyenna Rose\, Spencer Rabin\, Collin Pastore\, Jake Finch\, Wilson Bcbeath and John Stark\, the album is more than a collection of songs; it’s an intentionally crafted map home. Bre threads hope through the darker moments\, writing with the conviction of someone who knows that beauty can bloom from the hardest places. “I want to encourage people with my songs to see the flowers through the concrete\,” she says — and it’s this sentiment that’s the heartbeat of the album. \nBre has cemented herself as an artist to watch and one of the brightest voices out of the New Nashville music scene both on stage and in the writing room\, recently securing cuts with artists such as Lily Meola\, Willie Nelson\, Lukas Nelson\, Joy Oladokun\, Lori McKenna\, GAYLE\, Britney Spencer and Billy Raffoul.

SUMMARY:"General John Glover: Unsung Hero of the Revolution" Lecture and Performance
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a memorable evening of music\, history\, and conversation celebrating the life\, military service\, and lasting legacy of one of the American Revolution’s most celebrated — and often overlooked — figures. \nThe evening kicks off with a rousing performance by Scurvy Fellows Indeed\, a spirited crew of 18th-century privateers who will entertain with rollicking sea chanteys — audience sing-along strongly encouraged! \nHistorian Robert Booth then takes us through the compelling story of how John Glover’s Marblehead roots and family ties shaped his path to becoming a Revolutionary War hero. \nHe is followed by Larry Sands — Captain of Glover’s Marblehead Regiment — who brings Glover’s battlefield career to life with a lively overview of his major engagements and accomplishments. \nNancy Lusignan Schultz\, Chair of the Swampscott Historical Commission and President of Save the Glover! Inc.\, rounds out the presentations with the latest news on the ongoing effort to preserve General Glover’s historic farmhouse. \nThis program is part of the Conflict & Community: Salem\, Essex County\, and the American Revolution lecture series. This series is a partnership between Essex Heritage and Salem Maritime National Historical Park and highlights the unique role of Essex County communities during the American Revolution.
