SUMMARY:Newburyport’s Road to Revolution Part II: Nbpt Braces for Attack by Sea
DESCRIPTION:Boston is occupied\, Portsmouth blockaded. A wild rumor flies that Ipswich has been attacked by sea and her inhabitants killed. A British scouting party sneaks into Newburyport Harbor under the cover of night. In the face of constant threat\, Newburyport’s harbor became a safe haven for vessels of all kinds on the eve of Revolution\, thanks to an elaborate web of defenses including sunken piers\, floating batteries\, and artillery at Salisbury Point. \nJoin Graham McKay\, executive director of Lowell’s Boat Shop\, and Bethany Groff Dorau as we explore how Newburyport prevented attack by sea and became a refuge for rebels at sea. \nCLICK HERE to Purchase Tickets \nFunded\, in part\, by the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism \n \n

SUMMARY:King Kyote
DESCRIPTION:“Harken to a night of whiskey drinking in a cabin among the pines\, King Kyote echoes the yells of Rock & Roll’s fore-bearers while having a deeply rooted harmony with the Blues\, Roots-Rock & Indie-Americana genres. A force to be reckoned with on stage\, Kyote’s fiery live shows prove that pure raw talent combined with real\, honest songwriting is still the future of today’s music. Hailing from the Maine coast\, King Kyote’s sound and inspiration comes from how he views and interprets the world around him. He expresses himself through a unique lens—like a photograph\, putting pen to paper captures life’s most delicate moments. The ability to draw creative power from the waves he rides and mountains he climbs gives Kyote a distinct perspective on the intertwines of the vagabond troubadour and the artist. Over the last five years\, King Kyote has firmly established himself as a standout artist\, garnering attention as one of the prominent figures to keep an eye on in the northeast. Kyote represented his home state of Maine on NBC’s American Song Contest with his song “Get Out Alive” which was released on Atlantic Records in March of 2022. King Kyote has shared stages with legendary artists\, including Taj Mahal\, Molly Tuttle & The Golden Highway\, Houndmouth\, and Robert Randolph & The Family Band. “I like the way he holds his own\, his vocal tone and his penmanship”- Snoop Dogg.\nKing Kyote is gearing up for an extraordinary 2024\, embarking on extensive touring for the first time in his career. This monumental journey aligns with the release of his latest record\, as well as a radio\, strategic playlist\, and marketing campaigns crafted to support these moments.”

SUMMARY:Cimarron 615
DESCRIPTION:The quartet — just releasing its second\, self-titled album — is a hall of fame-caliber assemblage\, with credits that look like a who’s-who of Americana\, country and rock history. “We’ve all been around a long time and done a lot of work — and a lot of it together\,” notes drummer Rick Lonow. “There’s history here.” \nWhere the four musicians intersect is via the famed country-rock band Poco. Lonow and Jack Sundrud were its longtime rhythm section until the band ceased when co-founder Rusty Young died in 2021. Michael Webb played in the band for eight years\, while Ronnie Guilbeau co-wrote Poco’s 1989 Top 20 single “Call It Love” with Lonow. Webb and Sundrud co-produced Poco’s All Fired Up album in 2013\, and Lonow\, Webb and Sundrud played on Young’s 2017 solo album\, Waitin’ For the Sun. \nThen there are the individual credits\, which include many path-crossings with each other over the years. Lonow’s discography includes albums for Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash\, Loretta Lynn\, Nanci Griffith\, “Cowboy” Jack Clement\, Ryan Bingham and many more\, has toured with the Bellamy Brothers\, and was part of the all-star Burrito Deluxe. Webb played on iconic albums by Chris Stapleton\, John Prine\, Mark Germino and others\, as well as hitting the road with John Fogerty and Hank Williams\, Jr.; he was also part of the all-star Brooklyn Cowboys. Sundrud played with Dickie Betts\, Vince Gill\, and Nicolette Larson\, and formed the group Great Plains. And Guilbeau — who\, like Sundrud\, worked in the California country-rock scene before moving to Nashville — was part of the bands Palomino Road and GYG. \nCimarron 615 came to be after Young’s death\, when Blue Elan Records chief Kirk Pasich organized a tribute concert and album and brought Sundrud\, Webb and Lonow together in Los Angeles as part of a house band for several projects – and heard the potential for more. Guilbeau rounded out the line-up in 2023.
