SUMMARY:A Paper Orchestra by Michael Jamin
DESCRIPTION:Presented by The Actors Studio of Newburyport & 3 Girls Jumping\nDirected and Produced by Cynthia Jamin. \nIn his debut collection of personal essays\, Emmy-nominated screenwriter Michael Jamin … recounts the true stories of a sensitive\, anxious man searching for the most important things: identity\, love\, forgiveness\, and redemption. \nA cross between David Sedaris and Neil Simon\, Michael discovers his unlikeliest moments of growth: he fakes his way onto a college-football team to experience a moment of grace; breaks up with a woman because she can’t stop saying “just kidding”; gets caught lying during a Hollywood power meeting; takes advantage of the pandemic lockdown to repair his relationship with his daughters. \nAudaciously funny yet achingly poignant\, A Paper Orchestra will have you rethinking the smallest\, almost forgotten moments of your life. \nA Paper Orchestra launched in February 2024 and became the #1 New Release on Amazon in 6 different categories (Including Humor Essays\, Parent & Child Relationships\, and Biographies & Memoirs of Authors.) \nBook Signing after the show:\nA Paper Orchestra will be available to purchase for $19.99.\nIf you already have A Paper Orchestra\, please bring it with you and Michael will sign it!

SUMMARY:Science and Spirit in Italian Renaissance Painting at Hammond Castle Museum
DESCRIPTION:Monday\, May 13:\nScience and Spirit in Italian Renaissance Painting\nPresented by: Rocco Gangle \nThe form and function of the painted image changed drastically during the 15th-century Italian Renaissance. From the late medieval paintings of Giotto to works of Renaissance painters like Botticelli and da Vinci\, one feels as though stepping from an old world into a new one. What were the sources of this transformation of image and world? How was this transformation related to other cultural shifts such as the rise of humanism\, a burgeoning secular society\, and the scientific revolution? This presentation examines the religious\, philosophical\, and scientific backgrounds to the changes of the image in Italian Renaissance painting\, in particular the development of linear perspective techniques\, and connects this visual revolution in painting to its accompanying spiritual\, cultural\, and scientific revolutions.

SUMMARY:Carsie Blanton
DESCRIPTION:Carsie Blanton is a songwriter with hooks\, chutzpah\, and revolutionary optimism. Inspired by artist-activists including Nina Simone and Woody Guthrie\, her catalog careens through American popular song from folk and swing to pop-punk protest anthems.\nWith her unique mix of humor\, soul\, and political wit\, and fifteen-plus years on the road\, the Philly by-way-of New Orleans songwriter has amassed a dedicated fan base and a small menagerie of viral hits (“Rich People\,” “Shit List\,” Fishin’ With You).”\nA dynamic performer\, her live shows seek to delight and galvanize\, whether solo or with her Handsome Band. She isn’t afraid to explore the political and the burlesque\, but never fails to bring her audience together in love\, rage\, hope\, and camaraderie. Carsie’s newest album\, Body of Work (April\, 2023)\, is an intimately-recorded collection of songs from throughout her catalog\, delicately captured by Grammy-winning producer Tyler Chester (Madison Cunningham\, Andrew Bird). Her forthcoming album After the Revolution\, also produced by Tyler Chester\, is slated for release in March of 2024.
