Each brings a source of inspiration such as a poem\, prose\, a piece of music\, a piece of art (not their own) or a concept that speaks to them intellectually and emotionally. From there they will create a mixed media piece based on that concept\, to include their own drawings or water-based painting as well as other elements (such as printed patterns\, torn paper\, etc.) that lend meaning and visual enrichment. There will be lots of sharing and discussion to help each artist achieve his or her goals. This workshop will be held on June 10th\, June 17th\, and June 24th.

Once the summer home of Helen Stevens Coolidge and John Gardner Coolidge—a diplomat and descendant of Thomas Jefferson and nephew of Isabella Stewart Gardner—the historic house offers a unique glimpse into the lifestyle\, travels\, and tastes of a well-connected New England family. \nParticipants will begin with a short walk from our Garden Gateway Center and explore the first floor of the house. Every item in the home is a historic collection piece original to the couple and beautifully conserved. \nThe tour will last approximately 50-60 minutes. The first floor of the home is wheelchair accessible but we kindly ask no strollers\, food or drink in the home. \nPre-Registration is required. Space is limited. Sam is inspired by how much camaraderie\, love\, and joy is simply oozing out of his father and his best friend\, but also how deeply they get underneath their favorite songs (originals\, covers\, and traditional/old-time tunes) and how expertly that material was curated. \nSam’s aim in starting Sam Grisman Project is to build a container where he and his friends can showcase their genuine love and appreciation for the legacy of Dawg and Jerry’s music\, the impact it has made on their own individual musical voices\, and also to showcase the original music that their squad has to offer the world. \nNow\, in a team-up with longtime family friend Peter Rowan\, Sam and the band will be bringing the music of legendary bluegrass outfit Old and in the Way to the stage for select performances in 2025 and beyond!
