SUMMARY:Love is Love Pride Market in Downtown Salem
DESCRIPTION:The inaugural Love is Love Market is a free artisan marketplace celebrating Pride weekend in downtown Salem\, MA — and everyone is invited. \nOn Saturday\, June 27\, 2026\, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM\, Old Town Hall (indoor) and Derby Square (outdoor) transform into a curated marketplace featuring nearly 30 local makers\, artists\, and small businesses from across the North Shore and beyond. This isn’t a generic vendor fair. This is a market built around the people who pour their whole selves into what they create — the jewelers\, the painters\, the candlemakers\, the bakers\, the ceramicists\, the designers who turned a passion into a business and a business into a community. \nShop handmade jewelry\, original art\, specialty foods\, candles\, ceramics\, clothing\, home goods\, and more. This year’s hand-selected lineup includes illustrator Karen Hallion\, Sarah Kelly Ceramics\, Dragonfly Candle & Soap Co\, Peace Florals\, The Hippie Bean Co.\, Why Not Jewelry by Kirsty\, Jack Attackk Clothing\, Lory Sun Artistry\, Wildwood Bindery\, Alder & Spice\, Strawberry Oddities\, and The Witchery — alongside more than a dozen more makers across both venues. Every vendor is hand-selected. Every purchase goes directly to the person who made it. And from noon to 3 PM\, DJ Andrea Stamas brings the energy with a live\, Pride-themed\, family-friendly set — cued to start just as the North Shore Pride Parade makes its way through downtown. \nLove is Love Market is timed to coincide with North Shore Pride celebrations\, and that timing is intentional. This is a market that believes the creative economy and the LGBTQ+ community have always been connected — by courage\, by self-expression\, by the willingness to build something that didn’t exist before. We wanted to create a space where that energy is visible\, shoppable\, and celebrated out loud — and 2026 is the first year we’re bringing it to life. \nWhether you’re a longtime Salem local\, visiting for Pride weekend\, or just looking for a reason to spend a Saturday surrounded by good people and great makers — this is your day. \nMake it the full Salem Pride experience. The Love is Love Market is one piece of a much bigger day. Start with the North Shore Pride Parade as it steps off through downtown Salem\, gather on Salem Common for the North Shore Pride Festival\, and then shop the Love is Love Market at Old Town Hall and Derby Square. We’re proud to be part of a Pride weekend that fills the whole city — march\, celebrate\, shop\, and stay all day. \nAdmission is free. All ages welcome. Leashed dogs welcome in Derby Square. \nThis inaugural year is made possible by two proud sponsors — Jenni Stuart Fine Jewelry and Witch City Walking Tours — two Salem businesses that showed up early and put their names on the line for a market that didn’t exist yet. That’s what real community looks like. \nDetails at a glance: \nWhat: Love is Love Market — a free artisan marketplace\nWhen: Saturday\, June 27\, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM\nWhere: Old Town Hall & Derby Square\, Salem\, MA\nLive DJ: DJ Andrea Stamas | 12:00 – 3:00 PM\nAdmission: Free and open to the public\nCo-produced by: Creative Collective & Love Letter Confections\nSponsored by: Jenni Stuart Fine Jewelry & Witch City Walking Tours \nCelebrating love in all its forms.

SUMMARY:LET GO An Exhibition Featuring Benjamin Herbert\, Kathleen Gerdon Archer\, and Janice Colby
DESCRIPTION:LET GO\nAn Exhibition Featuring Benjamin Herbert\, Kathleen Gerdon Archer\, and Janice Colby \nCove Gallery\, 37 Rocky Neck Avenue\, Gloucester\nExhibition Dates: June 25-July 19\nOpening Reception: July 2 from 5-8PM\nwww.rockyneckartcolony.org \nGloucester\, MA LET GO is a group exhibition bringing together the work of painters Benjamin Herbert\, Kathleen Gerdon Archer\, and Janice Colby in an exploration of discovery\, transformation\, intuition\, and experimentation. Through both abstraction and representation\, the exhibition examines what it means to release certainty and move beyond familiar boundaries — emotionally\, materially\, and conceptually. \nThe exhibition invites viewers into spaces shaped by memory\, landscape\, identity\, atmosphere\, and process. Each artist approaches painting as a form of exploration\, embracing openness\, vulnerability\, and the unexpected as essential parts of creative practice. Together\, the works reflect a shared interest in the freedom that can emerge when control is loosened\, and intuition takes hold. \nBenjamin Herbert’s paintings explore color as a dynamic and immersive material\, examining its ability to shape atmosphere\, perception\, and surrounding space. Leaning into abstraction\, his works create immersive emotional landscapes that invite contemplation and encourage viewers to slow down within an increasingly fragmented\, image-saturated culture. \nKathleen Gerdon Archer’s work explores color\, gesture\, and emotional landscape through layered compositions that reflect her continued interest in the natural world and what is left behind. Incorporating hidden birds in movement and migration\, her paintings evoke memory\, transition\, and quiet connection\, balancing sensitivity\, motion\, and reflection through an intuitive process. \nJanice Colby’s paintings are infused with emotion\, warmth\, beauty\, happiness\, and playfulness — positive human emotions that she describes as “a balm for the soul.” Colby’s paintings invite viewers into moments of delight\, curiosity\, and emotional connection. \nTogether\, LET GO offers a contemplative experience that encourages viewers to embrace uncertainty\, imagination\, and new ways of seeing. \nThe Rocky Neck Art Colony (RNAC)\, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization\, nurtures excellence in the arts through exhibitions\, workshops\, residencies and vibrant cultural events for its members and the public. On picturesque Rocky Neck in Gloucester\, Massachusetts\, RNAC operates three exhibition spaces\, open to the public for free\, The Cultural Center at Rocky Neck (6 Wonson Street); The Salted Cod Arthouse (53 Rocky Neck Ave.)\, a partnership gallery and café; and Cove Gallery (37 Rocky Neck Ave.)\, open seasonally in the former gallery of local artists Gordon and Judith Goetemann.
