SUMMARY:Karla Bonoff
DESCRIPTION:Karla Bonoff has been described as one of the finest singer/songwriters of her generation. That description is not hyperbole. Bonoff has enjoyed critical acclaim\, commercial success\, enduring popularity\, and the unwavering respect of her peers. \nKarla has seen her songs become hits for Bonnie Raitt\, Wynonna Judd\, and Linda Ronstadt. Many of Bonoff’s ballads are classics. Karla has continued to record and tour extensively\, playing sold-out shows around the world. Hearing Karla’s moving vocals on her rich\, expressive songs is like standing beneath a sparkling waterfall–refreshing\, exhilarating\, and restorative. Experiencing them live can be transformative. Fans and critics agree that Bonoff’s songs are timeless as are her recordings. Many prefer her versions\, live with instrumentation that is clean and spare\, giving Bonoff’s voice room to work its emotional magic. \nIn 2019\, Karla released her first new album in over a decade\, Carry Me Home\, a 16-song set featuring brand new recordings of Karla’s classics along with new songs by Karla\, Kenny Edwards\, and a cover of a vintage Jackson Browne tune\, Something Fine\, which Karla performed on the 2015 compilation\, Looking into You: A Tribute To Jackson Browne. In late 2020\, Karla released\, Silent Night\, her first collection of Holiday music\, to wide acclaim\, including a prominent listing on the New York Times Best New Holiday Albums of the Year. In 2021 Karla added two new songs to her Holiday collection including a duet with the legendary Michael McDonald. \nThe media continues to follow and shine a spotlight on Karla’s ongoing career milestones. SUMMARY:Ryan Montbleau
DESCRIPTION:A relentless road warrior and masterful wordsmith\, Ryan Montbleau has spent the better part of thirty years cultivating a devoted audience on the strength of his ecstatic live shows and exhilarating sonic versatility. He’s collaborated with artists as diverse as Trombone Shorty\, Galactic\, Steel Pulse\, Tall Heights\, Martin Sexton\, Anders Osborne\, and George Porter\, Jr; shared bills with the likes of Tedeschi Trucks Band\, Ani DiFranco\, Todd Snider\, The Wood Brothers\, Rodrigo y Gabriela\, and Mavis Staples; and racked up more than 150 million streams on Spotify alone. NPR’s Mountain Stage compared his “eloquent\, soulful songwriting” to Bill Withers and James Taylor\, while Relix celebrated his “poetic Americana\,” and The Boston Herald raved that “he’s made a career of confident\, danceable positivity.” \nMontbleau’s freewheeling new album finds him exploring the full spectrum of his influences like never before\, touching on folk\, rock\, funk\, soul\, hip-hop\, and reggae\, all with a preternatural ease that belies the intensely focused craftsmanship behind it. The songs are sprawling and unpredictable\, grappling with a modern world perpetually teetering on the edge of chaos\, but the performances are relentlessly optimistic\, insisting on hope and joy in the face of it all. The result is Montbleau’s most vulnerable and cathartic work yet\, an album that acknowledges the inevitability of doubt and pain while at the same time celebrating our limitless capacity for growth and love.

Following her tenure as a pastry chef in New Hampshire\, Sue returned to school for a certificate in graphic design and put her talents to use as a designer in the book publishing and art publishing industries in Vermont. In early 2019\, Sue opened her own gallery and studio\, Arts Abound in Magnolia Village\, MA\, as an artistic haven for local artists. Through the gallery\, over 30 artists featured their creative works\, ranging from paintings\, hand-painted silk scarves\, silver jewelry\, and more. Sue also ran many workshops and classes featuring many of the artists. Often\, Sue would work late into the night\, painting in her Arts Abound studio. After closing the gallery in 2022\, Sue continued to offer the often sold-out painting classes\, taught by some of the Arts Abound artists. \nSue has studied under numerous artists to learn watercolor\, acrylic painting\, cold wax & oil\, and collage. Her goals for the Hammond Castle Museum sketch classes are to engage those who are new to the world of art and reinvigorate those who haven’t picked up a blank canvas or sketch pad in a long time. Sue’s philosophy on the creative process encourages you to be less concerned about the final product and instead to enjoy the journey of creativity and get lost in the moment. Once you find yourself in your work\, you may just be surprised!
