DESCRIPTION:Enjoy an evening of live music in the relaxed\, lounge-like setting of Upstairs on Main\, where great music meets a casual atmosphere with the bar open throughout the event. \nZahili Gonzalez Zamora is a pianist\, composer\, bandleader\, arranger\, and educator. Born in Manzanillo\, Cuba\, she started playing piano at the age of six and graduated from the National School of Music with a performance degree. Now\, she feels most defined by her Cuban heritage and her status as an immigrant. \nFor this program\, Zahili plans to present a curated set tracing Cuban piano music from the 18th century to the present\, alongside original compositions and arrangements of selected works from the American Songbook. \nHer passion for music has taken her to Canada\, to South East Asia and\, now\, to the United States —a land of immigrants. She is always moving forward\, guided and driven by her music and the need to grow as an artist and a person\, to share her music and her love of life with others. \nShe’s an artist who’s out of her comfort zone – her home – for the sake of her work. Her rich musical background\, career experience and extraordinary improvisation skills render her as not only a leader in the modern Latin jazz idiom but also\, an influential\, emulated musician.

Hammond Castle Museum Member savings apply. \nWe recommend that you arrive 15 minutes early to allow enough time for the walk from the parking lot down to the Museum\, then for the check-in process and the walk to the lawn. The teams competing are based on actual nineteenth-century baseball clubs from New England. \nThe Essex Base Ball Organization is a nonprofit “vintage base ball” group that plays the game as it was played in the 1860s. They are based out of Newbury\, Massachusetts\, and have four teams. The record represents a conscious tightening of focus: a return to the bluegrass foundations that first bound the band together\, approached with the confidence and emotional range earned through years of collective evolution. It is an affirmation that bluegrass still contains endless expressive possibility. Next Act finds the Rangers sounding deeply at home in their own musical language\, drawing strength from tradition while continuing to write new chapters within it. \nFormed in North Carolina and shaped equally by the Appalachian Mountains and the Piedmont\, Steep Canyon Rangers have long occupied a singular space in American roots music. From their earliest recordings\, the band demonstrated an unusual ability to honor traditional bluegrass forms while allowing contemporary songwriting\, literary influence\, and regional storytelling to seep naturally into the music.
