SUMMARY:The Temptations
DESCRIPTION:THE TEMPTATIONS’ story is an extraordinary journey from the streets of Detroit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. \nWith their signature dance moves and unmistakable harmonies\, they rose to the top of the charts creating an amazing 42 Top Ten Hits with 14 reaching number one. Just a few of their classic hits that transcends all demographics –“My Girl\,” “Just My Imagination\,” “Get Ready\,” “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” and so many more. Otis Williams is the original and founding member of The Temptations – through the good times and the bad. He is the key to their history and their stories – how they met\, their groundbreaking heights\, personal and political conflicts\, brotherhood\, family\, loyalty and more. As the leader and collaborator\, he has set the direction and tone for the Temptations through their transitions from the 60s to now. The group’s popularity is ever-increasing\, as they are one of the most iconic\, bestselling brands in the world today. \nThe demand for the Temptations grows as each generation discovers them. Most recently\, New York Mets star player Francisco Lindor chose “My Girl” as his walk-up song. The song resonated prompting the crowd at Citi Field to sing even after he reached the plate. This resulted in the Mets inviting the Temptations to perform the National Anthem and sing for the crowd at Game 5 of the National League Championship Series. This kicked off a series of television and personal appearances that hasn’t stopped. \nMarking the 60th anniversary of “My Girl\,” the Temptations first #1 hit\, The Temptations kicked off their official celebration in November in grand style atop Wonder float at the 98th Macy’s Day Parade thrilling the crowds along the parade route as well as millions of television viewers. In between their touring schedule\, they made whirlwind stops in Los Angeles and New York for national television appearances including CNN’s Thanksgiving Special\, The Today Show\, The View\, The Sherri Shephard Show\, The Motown Christmas Special\, CBS Early Show\, Access Hollywood\, ET\, and Extra. More TV appearances are scheduled throughout the year but have not been announced yet. \nAt every show\, they meet multi-generational fans who tell them time after time\, that The Temptations is a group that everyone can enjoy. And proving the point\, “My Girl” officially hit one billion Spotify streams putting them among only 1000 other artists to reach this milestone. “My Girl” celebrates several 60th anniversary chart milestones this year – No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot Rhythm & Blues\, No. 1 single on the Billboard Pop charts\, No. 1 on R&B chart\, and #35 on the Billboard Top 200 (Pop) chart. Continuing to create new music for their fans\, The Temptations are working on a new project this year as their last album of newly written material\, Temptations 60\, was released in 2022. \nThe Temptations’ heritage\, influence and contributions to\, not only American culture and African American communities but also to the global music landscape are monumental. The influence that The Temptations had on mainstream and global artists\, such as The Beatles\, The Rolling Stones\, Bob Dylan and others\, is undeniable. The smash hit musical\, Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations\, is based on the autobiography of Otis Williams. The musical captivated thousands of theatergoers with sold-out Broadway performances breaking house records and is currently touring throughout the U.S. It originally opened on Broadway in 2019 to critical acclaim and received 12 Tony nominations winning the Tony Award for Best Choreography and was nominated for a Grammy® Award in the “Best Musical Theater Album” category. The national touring production completed their 50+ city tour as well as their production in the West End at the Prince Edward Theatre\, U.K. \nMotown auditioned and signed the original Temptations (Otis Williams\, Melvin Franklin\, Paul Williams\, Eddie Kendricks\, and Elbridge “Al” Bryant) in May of 1961. When the legendary “Classic Five\,” (Otis Williams\, Melvin Franklin\, Eddie Kendricks\, Paul Williams and David Ruffin) released the single\, “The Way You Do the Things You Do\,” in 1964\, which peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and remained on the list for 11 weeks\, it marked the beginning of a multitude of award-winning and chart-topping singles and albums that would be embraced by popular music audiences globally. Considered trailblazers in the 60’s\, leading the way not only for themselves but for other R&B artists\, and successfully reaching mainstream audiences here and abroad\, The Temptations’ rise to fame was meteoric. It was on March 6\, 1965 that their first million copy\, bestselling single\, “My Girl” hit #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. The Temptations’ role as artists\, and how they used their voices to speak to the times they lived through\, especially during the 60’s-one of the most turbulent decades in our nation’s history\, is compelling. \nThe group’s 60-year history spans the 20th and 21st centuries\, and their music transcends generations. The Temptations’ story is a road map through American history. What began in Detroit\, when a remarkable combination of soulful voices united\, was the genesis of an epic journey that introduced multiple superstars to the world and produced some of the greatest music of our era. The Temptations always look forward to serenading fans with their soulful voices\, lighting up stages with their famous Temptations’ Walk and bringing joy to audiences of all ages.

SUMMARY:Christian Sands
DESCRIPTION:Jazz history is filled with stirring torch songs and ballads — brilliant expressions of suffering after love has gone awry. The jazz record shelf even contains some classic album-long explorations of melancholy. But it’s hard to find precedent in pianist Christian Sands’ new Embracing Dawn\, his fifth full-length effort for Mack Avenue Records. \nSands’ LP is nothing less than a cinematic narration of the stages of grief\, crafted by one of jazz’s finest young composers. It’s a “breakup record\,” to be sure — composed while Sands was experiencing the hurt that only a sudden absence of love can deliver — but it’s so much more. In its thoughtfully assembled nine tracks are a group therapy session\, a guide to healing\, and an understanding that Sands’ deeply personal angst could apply to any person who has lost a partner\, a job\, a loved one\, an opportunity\, the list goes on. In other words\, Embracing Dawn is for everyone. \n“I actually tried not to write this record\,” Sands says with a laugh. “It was painful. I was going through heartbreak\, and I didn’t know what to do — and so I decided to put it all into music. But I knew I wasn’t alone in this feeling. So why not create a safe space for people to go when they’re having this feeling\, when they’re having these thoughts or questions?” \nEmbracing Dawn trails 2023’s acclaimed Christmas Stories and 2020’s GRAMMY-nominated Be Water. Following that album’s release\, the New York Times commented\, “Equipped with a crisp but forceful touch\, he seems always to be flowing in new directions\, integrating elements of prog rock\, gospel and Western classical into a forward-tumbling jazz conception.” Embracing Dawn furthers Sands’ uniquely cultivated jazz language\, where agile post-bop meets soulful bluesy tinges and gorgeous swells of strings. Sands’ love of classical orchestration\, he explains\, is rooted in his lifelong obsession with film. \nUltimately\, Sands’ sound and philosophy are informed by two of his most essential mentors: bass maestro Christian McBride\, who\, as Sands’ longtime employer\, taught him the importance of always being yourself; and the late piano legend Dr. Billy Taylor\, who stressed how crucial it is to connect jazz to a wide-ranging audience. “I want Embracing Dawn to be something you gravitate toward because of the story\,” Sands says.

SUMMARY:The Great Marsh Starts Here! A Living Landscape in Motion
DESCRIPTION:November 6–22\, 2026\nFriday–Sunday\, noon–5 p.m.\nOpening reception: NOVEMBER 7\, 4-6 PM\nRocky Neck Cultural Center\, 6 Wonson Street\, Gloucester MA 01930 \nGloucester\, MA — The Great Marsh Starts Here! A Living Landscape in Motion brings together artists from the Great Marsh Artists Fellowship for an exhibition celebrating three years of artistic exploration\, collaboration\, and engagement with one of New England’s most significant coastal landscapes. \nThe exhibition features work by artists who have participated in the Great Marsh Artists Fellowship\, a program created to support artists in developing new projects inspired by the Great Marsh\, its natural and man-made history and significance\, as well as its beauty and immediate fragility. Over the past three years\, 22 artists have been selected as Great Marsh Artist Fellows and have dedicated themselves to creating 24 projects that connect art\, ecology\, history\, science\, and community. Some have been completed and presented to the community\, others are still underway. \nThe exhibition marks an important milestone in a partnership that began with The Great Marsh Concert in 2023\, a collaboration between Manship Artists Residency and Artists for the Great Marsh. The concert brought artists and members of the Great Marsh community together around a shared interest in the landscape and its future. That initial collaboration led to the formation of the Great Marsh Artists Fellowship\, which provides $2\,000 grants to artists to develop projects that premiere at organizations and institutions connected to the Great Marsh. \nThe fellowship has grown into a network of artists and organizational partners extending across the Great Marsh region. Over the past three years\, fellows have developed and presented projects with organizations including Essex Heritage\, Greenbelt\, Essex County’s Land Trust\, Mass Audubon\, Parker River National Wildlife Refuge\, The Trustees of Reservations\, TownGreen\, Essex National Heritage Area\, Historic New England\, Massachusetts Bay National Estuary Program\, Merrimack Valley Planning Commission\, Plum Island Ecosystems LTER at the Marine Biological Laboratory\, and the Wilkie Center for the Performing Arts and Bass Institute at The Governor’s Academy. The Great Marsh Artists Fellowship and this exhibition are funded in part by the Kathleen Van Demark Fund for the Great Marsh. \nRather than asking artists simply to interpret the marsh\, the fellowship invites them to spend time with the places\, people\, histories\, species\, and questions that make up this extraordinary landscape. The resulting projects have taken many forms\, demonstrating the range of ways artists can engage with a living ecosystem. \n“The Great Marsh Starts Here!” reflects both the geography and the philosophy of the exhibition. The Great Marsh begins here\, but it also extends outward—through waterways\, wildlife\, communities\, working landscapes\, and the many people who care for and experience it. The exhibition offers a chance to see the Great Marsh through the eyes of artists who have spent time observing\, listening\, researching\, imagining\, and creating in relationship to the landscape. \nArtists and Works\nThe exhibition brings together work by 18 of the 22 Great Marsh Artists Fellows including Resa Blatman\, Gail Boyajian\, Marcia Ciro\, Robert J. Bradshaw\, Michele Brody\, Anne Eder\, Karen Futral\, Isaac Grenader\, Robert Honstein\, Jenn Houle\, Amy Kaczur\, Andrea LeBlanc\, Susan Quateman\, Katie Pustizzi\, Norah Solorzano\, Erika Sutter\, and Alex Young. \nThe work presented moves across artistic disciplines and mediums—from painting\, photography\, and sculpture to video\, book art\, music\, animation\, and dance—revealing the many ways a living landscape can be seen\, experienced\, interpreted\, and expressed. \nAbout the Great Marsh Artists Fellowship\nThe Great Marsh Artists Fellowship was established following the 2023 Great Marsh Concert\, a collaboration between Manship Artists Residency and Artists for the Great Marsh. The fellowship provides $2\,000 grants to artists to create projects inspired by the Great Marsh and to develop those projects in partnership with organizations throughout the region. \nThe program recognizes artists as important observers\, interpreters\, storytellers\, and participants in the life of a landscape. By placing artists in conversation with environmental organizations\, historic sites\, conservation groups\, scientists\, educators\, and local communities\, the fellowship creates opportunities for new forms of public engagement with the Great Marsh. \nSince its creation\, the fellowship has supported 22 artists and 24 projects\, with projects ranging across visual art\, music\, film\, dance\, performance\, writing\, interdisciplinary practice\, and community engagement. \nThe Great Marsh Starts Here! A Living Landscape in Motion continues that work by bringing the artists together in one place and inviting audiences to experience the Great Marsh not as a single subject\, but as a complex and interconnected living landscape. \nExhibition Dates: November 6–22\, 2026\nOpening: November 7\, 4-6 PM\nGallery Hours: Friday–Sunday\, noon–5 p.m.\nLocation: Rocky Neck Cultural Center\, 6 Wonson Street\, Gloucester MA 01930\nSome of the artwork will be for sale.\nAdmission: Donations gratefully accepted to the FREE exhibition. Recommended donations requested for certain programs to pay the performers. Register to attend on exhibition page of Manship website: HERE. \nFor more information\, visit Manship Artists Residency at ManshipArtists.org or contact Rebecca Reynolds\, rreynolds@ManshipArtists.org\, 978-290-8438.

SUMMARY:The Clements Brothers Present A Paul Simon Tribute
DESCRIPTION:Experience the timeless music of Paul Simon with The Clements Brothers in a captivating quartet tribute filled with soaring harmonies and exceptional musicianship. George Clements brings the music vividly to life\, drawing on his experience portraying Paul Simon in the national tour of The Simon & Garfunkel Story. \nThe Clements Brothers are George and Charles Clements\, identical twins from New England. They’ve been playing and writing music together for as long as they can remember and ‘The Clements Brothers’ marks their first project together since playing in the internationally touring grass-roots band\, ‘The Lonely Heartstring Band’ with whom they put out two albums on Rounder Records. With roots\, rock\, bluegrass\, jazz\, and classical influences\, George (on guitar) and Charles (on bass) aim to capture their singer-songwriter sensibilities in a unique blended voice\, at once enthralling and intimate\, groovy and serene. Their first album ‘Dandelion Breeze’ was released in 2023 on Plow Man Records and their sophomore record is set to be released in the Fall of 2026. The duo is a fusion of each brother’s unique musical journey\, and the result is music all its own\, filled with vocal harmonies\, instrumental virtuosity\, and a genuine love of song.

SUMMARY:Darlene Love - Love For The Holidays
DESCRIPTION:Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Darlene Love\, famously dubbed the Queen of Christmas by none other than Mariah Carey\, announces her highly anticipated 2026 holiday tour\, Love for the Holidays. \nDarlene Love’s voice is etched into the very soul of the holiday season. Her signature recordings on the legendary Phil Spector Christmas Album—including “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)\,” “White Christmas\,” “Winter Wonderland\,” and “Marshmallow World”—remain among the most enduring and beloved holiday songs of all time. Her unmistakable vocals have also become a familiar sound in American film and television\, featured in holiday classics like Home Alone 2\, The Godfather\, Father of the Bride\, and hundreds of TV shows\, films\, and commercials. \nLove began her career in the early 1960s\, emerging from Phil Spector’s “Wall of Sound” as one of the most powerful and unforgettable voices in pop and soul. She quickly became the go-to vocalist for legends like Elvis Presley\, Tom Jones\, Dionne Warwick\, and Bruce Springsteen. Over the years\, her voice has become a seasonal soundtrack for millions—and one that critics and fans alike consider irreplaceable. In fact\, Rolling Stone magazine has named her one of the greatest singers of all time\, and few would disagree. \nOver the decades\, Love has built a remarkable holiday performance legacy. She famously performed “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” on The Late Show with David Letterman for 28 consecutive years\, creating one of the most cherished traditions in late-night TV history. Letterman himself once said\, “Darlene’s voice is the sound of Christmas.” That legacy continued when she joined her dear friend Cher in 2023 for a stunning duet at the nationally televised Christmas in Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony. The following year\, in 2024\, she brought the house down on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon during the show’s holiday episode with an all-star performance alongside Steven Van Zandt and Paul Shaffer. She also graced daytime television for eight straight years on The View\, bringing festive cheer into millions of homes each December. \nHer most iconic holiday song even includes some iconic backup: Cher was one of the original background vocalists on “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)\,” and still calls it her favorite holiday song of all time. \nNow\, at 84 years young\, Darlene Love shows no signs of slowing down. Her energy\, grace\, and unmistakable powerhouse voice continue to inspire\, uplift\, and electrify audiences. “I’m beyond thrilled to be getting back on the road this November\,” Love shares. “Sharing these songs and moments with fans each year means everything to me. To still be doing what I love at 84 is a gift I’ll never stop being grateful for.” \nIn addition to her return to the stage\, Darlene has just wrapped filming on a brand-new docuseries\, set to debut in 2026\, chronicling her extraordinary life and musical legacy. \nHer upcoming Love for the Holidays tour promises to be an unforgettable celebration of music\, memory\, and pure holiday magic\, led by one of the most iconic and enduring voices in music history.
