SUMMARY:Danielia Cotton with Megan Wolffe
DESCRIPTION:Reserved Seats $45 + $6.95 service fee\nGA Standing $25 + $6.95 service fee\n6:30pm Doors / 7:30pm Show\n18+\, Positive I.D. Required. \nAmericana/Soul/Rock artist Danielia Cotton released her version of Charley Pride’s Roll On Mississippi on March 18\, 2024 (Pride’s birthday) and Kiss an Angel Good Morning on May 15\,\n2024\, as the first twosingles for her upcoming tribute EP\, Charley’s Pride: A Tribute to Black Country Music.\nBoth singles broke through the charts performing exceptionally well\, without the support of a major label. This is not at all surprising given the force of nature that is Danielia Cotton. It makes sense that she landed here\, in Country. Cotton who grew up in rural NJ on the Sourland Mountain has been dippin’ her toes in this creek since she started recording with songs like Fast\, 4 A Ride & Found Another from her first album\, Small White Town. “Danielia injects her own brand of indie soul and Americana on her version\, while also possessing the late great Charley’s dynamism” – Americana Blues Scene\nCotton is music legacy. Her mother and aunts were all professional vocalists and music is in her blood. Cotton considers the forthcoming album a tribute not just to one of her musical idols but also to her family\, especially her grandparents. Just as Pride forged a path as a Black artist in a predominately white world of Country music\, Cotton’s Pop Pop worked to become a respected and beloved figure in a small town with only a handful of Black residents\, a Small White Town where her family\, including her 103-year-old grandmother\, still reside.\nCotton started performing in her teens. She began crafting her own sound; an eclectic mix of the stuff that shaped her and the stuff that called her. Cotton’s magic is born of her ability to inhabit a song\, to dwell in its rhythms and melodies\, to live with the intricacies of its lyrical structure\, and to emerge with an articulate proclamation of personal and social truths. “With her command of rock and soul and the fearless spirit she brings to the music\, she ultimately does make you a believer” – No Depression Cotton has spent her entire career fighting for independence\, space to create her own sound and an audience that would journey with her. She released her first full length album\, Small White Town in 2005. With the freedom to shape her own vision and direction; she released critically acclaimed RareChild (2008)as a true indie artist followed by the Live Child EP (2009) in relatively quick succession. In 2012\, came Gun in Your Hand followed byWoodstock (2014)\, The Real Book (2014)\, A Prayer (2016)\, The Mystery of Me (2017)\, and Good Day (2022). Cotton is no stranger to the stories Country Music\ntraditionally tells… she’s lived some life; seen and been through some serious shit and this powerful bodyof work is what she did with it.“\nDemographers\, beware: Danielia Cotton doesn’t fit neatly into any box. She’s an African American\, from a nearly all – white town in New Jersey. She’s a singer and songwriter who can sound like a blues balladeer on one track\, and a hard-rock wailer on the next.” –NPR\nShe has done battle with the oppressive systems that plagued the lives of Pride and her Pop Pop. Cotton’s music has shone a light on deeply personal\, and simultaneously systemic and pervasive issues that have plagued folks like her for an eternity. Her music is expansive and will occupy every ounce of space she has carved out for it. She continues to evolve and challenge herself as a musician and it is evident in her catalog. Cotton’s creating music that spans time\, music deeply rooted in yesterday and passionately and powerfully crafted for tomorrow. \nMegan Wolffe\nWhether she’s singing to sold out audiences at The CUT with SAFETY 80’s\, or packing the jazz clubs of New England with her Amy Winehouse tribute\, Gloucester native Megan Wolffe delivers captivating stage presence and unrelenting vocal stamina and agility. She brings her original rock and soul band to The Cut for one night only\, in this special performance celebrating classic deep cut arrangements from artists such as Etta James\, Jimi Hendrix\, and Led Zeppelin alongside her original music supported by band members Jeff Buckridge\, Mike Miksis\, and Peter MacClean. \nMegan’s expansive repertoire and versatility has allowed her to collaborate with rock legend\, Barry Goodreau of the band Boston\, during the Rockin’ for Vets concert in 2016. She then joined the Joe Cocker legacy project Mad Dogs Unchained which includes original band members Cliff Goodwin ( Rober Palmer)\, Deric Dyer (Tina Turner)\, and Mitch Chakour ( Bonnie Raitt) and completed on a 22 date European tour\, with the group\, in 2018 as backing vocalist/percussionist. \nThat same year\, Wolffe founded her Amy Winehouse tribute band Back to Black LIVE with great success\, quickly selling out venues and later moving the production to Las Vegas in 2019. Just as the show was about to launch early 2020\, the pandemic forced Megan into an extended hiatus. After taking time off to a start a family and raise her two young children\, Megan has since returned to the Boston area and continues to perform the Amy act to adoring fans. \nBetween these milestones\, Megan has stayed committed to her songwriting and recording and is set to release her 1st new single\, since 2016\, this November. This showcase will be a highlight of Wolffe’s rock catalogue as well as feature songs from her 2016 album\, “This Girl”. Join us for this special double bill\, feat. powerhouse musicians Megan Wolffe and Daniella Cotton.

SUMMARY:Wheelock Variations in Concert at Peabody Essex Museum
DESCRIPTION:Guitarist Alexander Lassa and composer Charles Shadle present Wheelock Variations: The Choctaw Hymn Tradition in a Contemporary Context\, a concert that celebrates both musicians’ tribal identity as enrolled members of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. \nThe central work on the program is Shadle’s Wheelock Variations\, a 25-minute work for solo guitar\, commissioned by Lassa\, that is based on “Vba Isht Taloa 139” (Choctaw Hymn 139). The title of Wheelock Variations references the historic Wheelock Academy near Millerton Oklahoma/Choctaw Nation\, and the nearby Wheelock Church. Both bear the name of Eleazar Wheelock (1711–1779)\, Congregational minister and founder of Dartmouth college\, and an important advocate for the education of Native American people. Wheelock Academy was established by the respected early missionary to the Choctaws\, Alfred Wright (1788-1853)\, who founded the school in 1832. He and his congregation built the stone Wheelock Church in 1845–46. Very much in the severe style of the New England country meeting house\, it is the oldest church building in Oklahoma. It has recently been returned to the ownership of the Choctaw Nation. \nIn part\, Wheelock Variations memorializes this event\, while also engaging\, through musical means\, with the complex history of the place and its people. Wheelock Variations can be heard as an act of cultural preservation that understands that the past\, in order to stay viable\, must be continually reimagined\, so that it remains accessible to both Choctaw and non-Choctaw listeners.

SUMMARY:DMTB - A Celebration of Dave Matthews Band
DESCRIPTION:Reserved Seats $35 + $6.95 service fee\nGA Standing $20 + $6.95 service fee\n7:00pm Doors / 8:00pm Show\n21+\, Positive I.D. Required. \nDMTB is a celebration of the music of the Dave Matthews Band – a time machine to a funky tea party in the 90’s\, a boisterous era of tape trading\, sing-alongs\, and exploration into a new sonic landscape spearheaded by complex guitar riffs\, soaring violin melodies\, smooth sax lines\, and explorative-explosive drumming. \nDedicated to recreating that moment in musical history\, the DMTB has been honing their craft for over 20 years. Since 2004\, the band’s ruthless touring schedule has been unparalleled\, playing over 2000 shows in 46 states and 10 countries. The Buffalo\, NY based band has successfully paid tribute to the Dave Matthews Band\, with heartfelt recreation of DMB’s musical spirit. \nThe DMTB aims to transport the listener back in time. The band takes inspiration from the classic DMB sound\, with immense respect for the original quintet. While including material from the bands later and current catalogs\, the goal is to create a well rounded and authentic tribute. \nThe attention to details\, love for the music\, and sense of community creates an atmosphere that causes concert goers to say “…wow\, if I close my eyes\, it’s like I’m there!”

SUMMARY:Creative Neighbors | Vecinos Creativos: Punto Urban Art Museum
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an artist talk with Punto Urban Art Museum’s (PUAM) Creative Neighbors muralists to celebrate their work and strengthen the bridge between local artists and the museum. \nThe Creative Neighbors project brings in local and regional artists to create a series of murals in Salem’s Point neighborhood (El Punto). The theme for this year’s murals\, “Raíces | Roots\,” prompted the selected muralists to reflect on their heritage and the concept of being rooted. In addition to their large-scale murals\, six of the muralists created accompanying canvas works for display at PEM. \nThis project is made possible by PEM’s partnership and is an official part of Punto Urban Art Museum’s Salem 400+ offerings. Canvases by six of the muralists will be on display in PEM’s Main Atrium from November 15–December 2\, with potential remounts in 2026 as part of PEM’s Salem 400+ celebrations.

SUMMARY:Singer-Storyteller Jack DesBois In Concert
DESCRIPTION:Acoustic Christian Music for the Whole Family in Haverhill\, MA \nTopsfield-based classical and folk musician Jack DesBois will give a free-to-the-public concert at Ward Hill Church of Christ the King in Haverhill\, MA\, on Sunday\, November 16 at 4:00pm\, featuring music from his 2024 debut solo album “My Brother\, My Sister\, My Kin.” \nDrawing from his backgrounds as a classically trained oratorio soloist\, a scholar of the traditional folk songs of New England\, a Christian poet and storyteller\, and an admirer of a good song well sung\, Jack has woven together an album of simply set and shining gems. His selections lead the listener on a journey from the craggy shores and enchanted rivers of the British Isles to the beckoning forests and mountain ranges of America\, from the soul-stirring poetry of the classic hymns to the truth-seeking scratches of his own pen. \nThe album’s title is a nod to the words of Christ from Matthew 12:50: “For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven\, the same is my brother\, and sister\, and mother.” Family is both a theme throughout the album and the backbone without which these recordings wouldn’t exist. \n“These songs have been germinating in me for years\,” writes Jack in the liner notes of the album\, “decades in some cases—but it is the environment of home\, where family surrounds and supports me\, that has allowed the songs to flourish. They’ve grown from the fertile soil of family values\, the diligent watering and weeding of practice and critique\, and the warm light of Christ. And here they are\, picked and washed and ready for you to enjoy. God bless you\, my brother\, my sister\, my kin!” \n“My Brother\, My Sister\, My Kin” is available on streaming platforms including Spotify and YouTube\, and CDs will be available for sale at the concert. \n~ ~ ~\nWhen: Sunday\, November 16\, 2025 at 4:00pm\nWhere: Ward Hill Church of Christ the King\, 63 L Street\, Ward Hill (Haverhill)\, MA\nRun time: approx. 75 minutes\nFree\, All Are Welcome \nCDs will be for sale\, and freewill donations will be gratefully accepted for Ward Hill Church’s window restoration fund. \nSponsored by DesBois Tutoring & Enrichment\, a family-run academic tutoring and educational enrichment service based in Topsfield\, MA. \njackdesbois.com ~ desboistutoring.org ~ wardhillchurch.wordpress.com
