SUMMARY:Jesse Cook
DESCRIPTION:A global artist in every sense of the word\, Jesse Cook redefines music’s power to connect people across cultures and continents. \nOver the last three decades\, the Paris-born\, Toronto-raised master of the Spanish guitar has built a devoted following for his spellbinding rumba flamenco\, routinely selling out performance halls from London to Los Angeles\, Milan to Montreal. \nOn stage\, Cook radiates infectious energy\, collaborating with his band and guest instrumentalists to craft immersive\, unforgettable experiences. His concerts are celebrated for their warmth\, precision\, and emotional depth. \nThroughout his decades-long career\, Jesse Cook has remained devoted to musical exploration. His boundary-defying artistry has introduced flamenco and world music to wider audiences while maintaining a signature style that is both technically masterful and soulfully expressive. \nThat authenticity has clearly resonated—with over a billion streams and views across platforms to date—proving his sound remains as relevant as it is revered.

SUMMARY:CSEM Presents: Trio Langostino in Concert
DESCRIPTION:CSEM is proud to present Trio Langostino\, a new ensemble made up of Early Music superstars Cynthia Roberts\, Phoebe Carrai\, and Peter Sykes. \nSykes\, Roberts\, and Carrai have been friends since they met in the late 70’s at New England Conservatory of Music in Boston\, MA. After receiving their degrees\, Sykes\, Roberts\, and Carrai went on to establish successful careers worldwide. It was only after many years of traveling and performing that the three met up again to play a concert\, rediscovering the wonder of making music together. Now\, all three members teach together at the Juilliard School in New York\, and have come together to form the Trio Langostino\, named after their shared connections to Cape Cod and love of the ocean and its delicious bounty. \nIn their concert debut together\, these three internationally acclaimed musicians come together with a lifetime of experience to share their favorite Baroque chamber music masterpieces. The new trio promises a program of virtuosity\, discovery\, and infectious musical joy with works of Stradella\, Gabrielli\, Biber\, J.S. Bach\, Platti\, and Boismortier.

SUMMARY:Not So Faust
DESCRIPTION:Perhaps you are familiar with Goethe or Marlowe’s tales of “Faust\,” both brooding epics of a scholar who sells his soul to the devil in exchange for knowledge. As the title suggests\, this version is “Not So Faust!”. Jill Rogati (director) revisits the original story in the style of Commedia dell’arte – a traditional Italian form of theatre that uses masks\, physical comedy\, and playful improvisation to make a solemn subject incredibly silly. While philosophy and stern contemplation of the complex nature of humanity certainly have a place\, “Not So Faust!” seeks to show that loosening our belts and laughing at ourselves is just what the Doctor ordered.

SUMMARY:The Great Marsh Starts Here! A Living Landscape in Motion
DESCRIPTION:November 6–22\, 2026\nFriday–Sunday\, noon–5 p.m.\nOpening reception: NOVEMBER 7\, 4-6 PM\nRocky Neck Cultural Center\, 6 Wonson Street\, Gloucester MA 01930 \nGloucester\, MA — The Great Marsh Starts Here! A Living Landscape in Motion brings together artists from the Great Marsh Artists Fellowship for an exhibition celebrating three years of artistic exploration\, collaboration\, and engagement with one of New England’s most significant coastal landscapes. \nThe exhibition features work by artists who have participated in the Great Marsh Artists Fellowship\, a program created to support artists in developing new projects inspired by the Great Marsh\, its natural and man-made history and significance\, as well as its beauty and immediate fragility. Over the past three years\, 22 artists have been selected as Great Marsh Artist Fellows and have dedicated themselves to creating 24 projects that connect art\, ecology\, history\, science\, and community. Some have been completed and presented to the community\, others are still underway. \nThe exhibition marks an important milestone in a partnership that began with The Great Marsh Concert in 2023\, a collaboration between Manship Artists Residency and Artists for the Great Marsh. The concert brought artists and members of the Great Marsh community together around a shared interest in the landscape and its future. That initial collaboration led to the formation of the Great Marsh Artists Fellowship\, which provides $2\,000 grants to artists to develop projects that premiere at organizations and institutions connected to the Great Marsh. \nThe fellowship has grown into a network of artists and organizational partners extending across the Great Marsh region. Over the past three years\, fellows have developed and presented projects with organizations including Essex Heritage\, Greenbelt\, Essex County’s Land Trust\, Mass Audubon\, Parker River National Wildlife Refuge\, The Trustees of Reservations\, TownGreen\, Essex National Heritage Area\, Historic New England\, Massachusetts Bay National Estuary Program\, Merrimack Valley Planning Commission\, Plum Island Ecosystems LTER at the Marine Biological Laboratory\, and the Wilkie Center for the Performing Arts and Bass Institute at The Governor’s Academy. The Great Marsh Artists Fellowship and this exhibition are funded in part by the Kathleen Van Demark Fund for the Great Marsh. \nRather than asking artists simply to interpret the marsh\, the fellowship invites them to spend time with the places\, people\, histories\, species\, and questions that make up this extraordinary landscape. The resulting projects have taken many forms\, demonstrating the range of ways artists can engage with a living ecosystem. \n“The Great Marsh Starts Here!” reflects both the geography and the philosophy of the exhibition. The Great Marsh begins here\, but it also extends outward—through waterways\, wildlife\, communities\, working landscapes\, and the many people who care for and experience it. The exhibition offers a chance to see the Great Marsh through the eyes of artists who have spent time observing\, listening\, researching\, imagining\, and creating in relationship to the landscape. \nArtists and Works\nThe exhibition brings together work by 18 of the 22 Great Marsh Artists Fellows including Resa Blatman\, Gail Boyajian\, Marcia Ciro\, Robert J. Bradshaw\, Michele Brody\, Anne Eder\, Karen Futral\, Isaac Grenader\, Robert Honstein\, Jenn Houle\, Amy Kaczur\, Andrea LeBlanc\, Susan Quateman\, Katie Pustizzi\, Norah Solorzano\, Erika Sutter\, and Alex Young. \nThe work presented moves across artistic disciplines and mediums—from painting\, photography\, and sculpture to video\, book art\, music\, animation\, and dance—revealing the many ways a living landscape can be seen\, experienced\, interpreted\, and expressed. \nAbout the Great Marsh Artists Fellowship\nThe Great Marsh Artists Fellowship was established following the 2023 Great Marsh Concert\, a collaboration between Manship Artists Residency and Artists for the Great Marsh. The fellowship provides $2\,000 grants to artists to create projects inspired by the Great Marsh and to develop those projects in partnership with organizations throughout the region. \nThe program recognizes artists as important observers\, interpreters\, storytellers\, and participants in the life of a landscape. By placing artists in conversation with environmental organizations\, historic sites\, conservation groups\, scientists\, educators\, and local communities\, the fellowship creates opportunities for new forms of public engagement with the Great Marsh. \nSince its creation\, the fellowship has supported 22 artists and 24 projects\, with projects ranging across visual art\, music\, film\, dance\, performance\, writing\, interdisciplinary practice\, and community engagement. \nThe Great Marsh Starts Here! A Living Landscape in Motion continues that work by bringing the artists together in one place and inviting audiences to experience the Great Marsh not as a single subject\, but as a complex and interconnected living landscape. \nExhibition Dates: November 6–22\, 2026\nOpening: November 7\, 4-6 PM\nGallery Hours: Friday–Sunday\, noon–5 p.m.\nLocation: Rocky Neck Cultural Center\, 6 Wonson Street\, Gloucester MA 01930\nSome of the artwork will be for sale.\nAdmission: Donations gratefully accepted to the FREE exhibition. Recommended donations requested for certain programs to pay the performers. Register to attend on exhibition page of Manship website: HERE. \nFor more information\, visit Manship Artists Residency at ManshipArtists.org or contact Rebecca Reynolds\, rreynolds@ManshipArtists.org\, 978-290-8438.

Currently an eightpiece unit led by guitarist Chris Vachon\, the band has never sounded fresher or stronger. Singer DD Bastos brings her sweet and soulful vocals and adds another bright new dimension to the jazzy\, jump-blues musical roots. Their winning combination of jump\, swing\, blues\, R&B and soul remains their calling card\, as does their ability to fill the dance floor. Along with bassist John Turner\, trumpeter Chris Pratt\, drummer Mike Coffey\, keyboardist Jeff Ceasrine\, baritone and tenor saxophonist Craig Thomas\, and tenor and alto saxophonist Rich Lataille\, Roomful keeps on rockin’ year after year! \nRoomful of Blues\, according to DownBeat magazine\, “are in a class by themselves.” With their masterful combination of jumping\, horn-heavy\, hard-edged blues and R&B\, it’s no wonder why the great Count Basie called them “the hottest blues band I’ve ever heard.” Since 1967\, the group’s deeply rooted blend of swing\, rock ‘n’ roll\, jump\, blues and soul has earned it five Grammy Award nominations and a slew of other accolades\, including seven Blues Music Awards. With a non-stop performance schedule for over 55 years\, Roomful of Blues has earned critical\, popular and radio success and a legion of fans around the globe. including the prestigious DownBeat International Critics Poll for “Best Blues Band”. \nD.D. Bastos – Vocals DD is no stranger to the stage. She began singing in church at the age of 5 years old. Music has always been her passion. D.D. earned second chair in the All-Eastern Honors Ensemble representing Massachusetts which garnered her a scholarship. After college D.D. began performing with local bands throughout NE which led to the inception of her band DD & The Road Kings. Her work put her closely associated with the fraternity that is; Roomful of Blues\, Sugar Ray and the Bluetones\, The Broadcasters and the dozens of splinter groups who have branched off — shaping many other New England Blues bands. Certainly\, when three of them show up on D.D. and the Road Kings’ album Lover Bird\, which was well received by critics and fans alike\, there is a common thread that can be traced back to the ’60s Blues revival. D.D. is also a Choral Director in the public school system with 20+ years as a private music teacher. Her love of singing is what fuels her soulful and powerful performances. \nChris Vachon – Guitar Chris is a true multi-talent. His prowess as a guitar slinger is well documented\, and his strengths as a producer and songwriter grow from album to album. He produced the band’s nine most recent albums—There Goes the Neighborhood (1998)\, Watch You When You Go (2001)\, Live at Wolf Trap (2002) the Grammy nominated That’s Right! (2003)\, and Standing Room Only (2004)\, “Raisin’ A Ruckus” (2008)\, Hook\, Line & Sinker (2011)\, 45 Live (2013) and In A Roomful of Blues (2020) after co-producing all of Roomful’s other albums recorded in the ’90s. Chris’s songs— such as “Turn It On! Turn It Up!\,” “Running Out of Time\,” “She’ll Be So Fine\,” “Blue\, Blue World\,” “Dynamite” and “Keep on Rockin'” have become firm favorites in AAA and bluesradio formats\, bringing many new fans into the Roomful fold. \nJohn Turner – Upright and Electric Bass A veteran of the New England jazz scene\, bassist John Turner has performed and recorded with just about everybody–specifically the Either/Orchestra\,Charlie Kohlhase\, Scott Hamilton\, Roswell Rudd\, Lee Konitz\, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra\, members of Ornette Coleman’s band\, and Magic Dick-Jay Geils and Blues Time to name a few. John’s rock solid bottom is the essential element of the swing groove which Roomful is renowned for. \nJeff Ceasrine – PianoOrgan Originally from New York\, Jeff is a multi-instrumentalist who has performed throughout the New England area on keyboards\, rhythm guitar\, percussion\, and background vocals for over 25 years. He has worked in several long-standing acts in Rhode Island (blues\, jazz\, and swing) and has played many one-off gigs with various bands throughout the region. A frequent guest and on-call keyboard player with Roomful of Blues since 2008 (appearing on their recent “In a Roomful of Blues” CD)\, Jeff is comfortable with many different blues stylings. His influences include Pine Top Perkins\, Duke Ellington\, Fats Waller\, Lonnie Smith\, Otis Spann and Jimmy Smith..” \nMike Coffey – Drums From Newport Rhode Island Mike Coffey spent 20 years performing with the US Navy band. Upon retirement he performed with local blues artist Chris Stoval Brown and other wellknown blues artist in the Boston area. As part of a weekly Jazz series he has performed with Mike Renzi and Grey Sargent both members of Tony Bennett’s band and other renown jazz artist. He also performs with 50s doo wop group”The Diamonds” when they perform in New England. He studied with renown drum instructors Alan Dawson and Gary Chaffee. Known for his versatility and ability to enhance any group he performs with he been a welcome new member of Roomful of Blues. \nRich Lataille – Tenor and Alto Sax Rich joined Roomful in 1970 and was there at the beginning of what has become the most legendary horn section in contemporary blues. It was Rich’s interest in the swinging bands of the ’30s and ’40s that led Roomful to forge the distinctive sound that has become the band’s trademark. A man who can play both sides of the fence\, lyrically tender or blisteringly hot\, Rich has a big\, warm tone that is always jam-packed with feeling. His melodic inventiveness reflects the depth and breadth of his wide-ranging influences. Rich worked with various local and high- school bands before beginning his long-term relationship with Roomful. \nCraig Thomas – Baritone and Tenor Sax Craig was born in Washington DC and grew up in Maryland. At a young age Craig heard an early rock and roll instrumental “Wild Weekend” by the Rockin’ Rebels which inspired him to take up the saxophone. He moved to LA in his early 20s and played with the likes of Jim Messina of Loggins & Messina\, Les McCann\, Aretha Franklin\, the Stylistics\, Freda Payne\, Jermaine Jackson the R&B Bombers among many\, many others. Craig’s rich musical background is a welcome asset to the Roomful of Blues horn section. \nChristopher Pratt – Trumpet Chris is a native of Rhode Island and has performed throughout the New England area with various local and national acts for over forty years. Chris recently retired as a music teacher of 37 years from Warwick Rhode Island and continues to actively teach music at Roger Williams University. Chris’s pure melodic style\, infectious energy\, and love of the blues can be heard every time Roomful of Blues takes the stage!
