Music by César Franck weaves through this powerful multimedia portrait of artistry and resilience. \nANNA STUBE\, violin\nNineteen-year-old Latvian violinist Anna Štube has captivated audiences with her remarkable depth of expression and a musical voice devoted to communicating compassion and humanity. Recognized as a featured artist on CBC Music’s 2022 “30 Under 30” roster\, she made her orchestral debut at age thirteen with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra\, marking the beginning of a rapidly emerging international career.Anna’s honors include First Prize at the 2019 Orchestre symphonique de Montréal Manulife Competition\, where she became the youngest winner in the competition’s history; the 2024 Corcoran Concerto and Chamber Music Competitions at the Glenn Gould School; and the Grand Prize at the Canadian Music Competition. During the 2024–25 season\, she returned to the Calgary Philharmonic as a MacLachlan Ridge Emerging Artist. Recent highlights include her Koerner Hall debut performing Britten’s Violin Concerto with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra under Earl Lee\, as well as appearances with the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra\, Calgary Civic Symphony\, and Kensington Sinfonia. \nA passionate chamber musician\, Anna has collaborated with ensembles including the Kronos Quartet\, LGT Young Soloists\, and the Grammy-nominated ARC Ensemble\, and worked with artists such as Midori\, Christian Tetzlaff\, James Ehnes\, and Noah Bendix-Balgley. DESCRIPTION:It’s Base Ball\, 1864 style at Spencer Peirce Little Farm! These fun\, historically accurate games feature underhand pitching without gloves. A ball bounced once and caught is an out! Snacks\, baseballs\, and cards are available for purchase. Come and see for yourself how “America’s favorite pastime” was played in the 1860s. The teams competing are based on actual nineteenth-century baseball clubs from New England. \nThe Essex Base Ball Organization is a nonprofit “vintage base ball” group that plays the game as it was played in the 1860s. They are based out of Newbury\, Massachusetts\, and have four teams. Recently named International Brass Personality of the Year by Brass Herald\, Lindemann has built an extraordinary career that spans classical and jazz\, redefining the role of the trumpet on the world stage. \nLindemann has performed in virtually every major concert venue worldwide\, including the Philharmonics of New York\, Los Angeles\, London\, Berlin\, Moscow\, and Tokyo\, as well as Carnegie Hall and even the Great Wall of China. His wide-ranging career includes appearances as an orchestral soloist\, a featured performer at the 2010 Olympic Games for a global audience of two billion\, performances at London’s Last Night of the Proms\, lead trumpet work with the Canadian Brass\, and a Command Performance for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. His accolades include GRAMMY® and Juno nominations\, Germany’s Echo Klassik Award\, British Bandsman Solo CD of the Year\, and multiple honorary doctorates. \nTrained at The Juilliard School and McGill University\, Lindemann has collaborated with leading artists and conductors including Sir Neville Marriner\, Charles Dutoit\, Pinchas Zukerman\, Doc Severinsen\, and Kent Nagano. Critics praise his “golden timbre and virtuosic flair” (The New York Times). \nBased in Los Angeles\, Lindemann is Professor with High Distinction at UCLA and Director of the Banff Centre Summer Brass Program.
