Learn how Lane rose from modest beginnings in the pre-Civil War era to worldwide recognition as a marine painter and why\, even today\, numerous artists journey to Cape Ann to find inspiration in its light and beauty. \nStroll with a CAM Docent for about 1 1/2 hours as you loop around downtown Gloucester. \nWhere to Meet?\nThough the Downtown Campus is currently closed for renovations until the spring of 2026\, the tour will gather at the courtyard attached to the Museum on 27 Pleasant Street. DESCRIPTION:Enter a world of early 20th-century country elegance and contemporary garden design with this specialty garden tour focusing on cut flowers at Stevens-Coolidge! \nCut Flowers will take you through the expansive manicured gardens and European-inspired flower beds designed in the 1920s and our newly installed Cutting Garden\, with a focus around a variety of cut flowers such as zinnias\, sunflowers\, and cosmos to name a few. Tour includes a history of the property and gardens with a dedicated focus on the care of cut flowers. After the tour\, participants will gather with one of our Trustees staff as they lead participants in a workshop to create their own cut flower inspired bouquet to take home. \nPre-registration is required. Refunds for this event must be requested 7 days prior to tour. In the event of cancellation\, you will be notified via the email address you used to register and refunded in full within 14 business days. DESCRIPTION:Our friendly\, knowledgeable tour guides share fascinating stories in each of the museum’s period rooms and galleries. \nYou will walk through this Federal-period house\, from its 1808 beginning as a ship captain’s home to its ownership by multiple generations of the Cushing family. See parts of the home as it was lived in\, as well as galleries featuring maritime trade\, the churches of Old Newbury\, and art works by Newburyport native Laura Coombs Hills. \nTours are on the hour\, 11-4pm\, Thursday – Sunday. Pre-order of tickets is encouraged as space cannot be guaranteed without tickets. Please arrive 10 minutes before your tour starts. \nTours are $10\, $8 for seniors\, $5 for those under 18.
