DESCRIPTION:Join lovers of Cape Ann’s unique landscape for an entertaining evening of “Quarry Stories” brought to life by ten exceptional presenters\, who will share recollections of the vivid scenery\, hard lives\, daily adventures\, and creative spirit of a bygone era\, defined by granite and the sea. \nMartha Fox\, Rosalie Hughes\, Monica Lawton\, Chris Leahy\, Peter Littlefield\, Theo MacGregor\, Susanna Natti\, Gerard Roy\, and George Sibley will look back\, through readings from a variety of sources\, on the profound impact of the granite-quarry industry on lives and landscapes at the tip of Cape Ann. \nThe evening will conclude with a talk and slideshow by local historian Leslie Bartlett\, “Cape Ann Women in the Quarries.” \nAdvance registration required.

Doors open at 6:30pm. Show starts at 7:00pm.\nFunds raised will support local hunger-relief programs of The Open Door.\nIn 2023\, The Open Door distributed 1.98 MILLION pounds of food (1.65 MILLION meals) to 9\,836 people (4\,952 households)\, and along with supporting our hunger-relief programs\, Second Glance kept more than 193\,000 POUNDS of goods out of the landfill.\nThank you! DESCRIPTION:Visit several historic home interiors on our bus tour\, and see and learn about many more buildings and their histories along the way! \nThe towns of Wenham and Topsfield for much of the 19th century were still very much characterized by agriculture. But a new turnpike\, the railroad\, and the Civil War created new opportunities. Many buildings and architectural characteristics from this special period have been preserved in Wenham and Topsfield. Join us to tour a great collection of these historic homes! \nThis is a one-time-only event\, space is limited. \nThe bus start/stop location will be in the Wenham/Topsfield area\, specific location details will be provided via email prior to the tour.
