Performing songs created by the most iconic musicians in rock history\, The Rock and Roll Playhouse band offers its core audience of families with children age ten and under games\, movement\, stories and an opportunity to rock out in an effort to educate children and explore their creativity. The Rock and Roll Playhouse is an early and often first introduction to a child’s lifelong journey with live music and rock and roll. This children’s concert is not associated with or endorsed by the artist. See you at the show! \nThis concert for kids and families shares the music of the artist named above with a new generation of music lovers\, but is not associated with or endorsed by the artist. All children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.\nThe Rock and Roll Playhouse knows that little ears are sensitive\, so we turn down the volume at our shows. DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, August 18\, 2024\n4:00 PM 7:00 PM\nMuseum of Old Newbury\n98 High Street Newburyport\, MA\, 01950United States \nMaven: from the Yiddish meyvn\, a maven is an expert\, literally\, one who understands. \nEnjoy an evening of music in the Cushing House Garden with two members of the Museum of Old Newbury family\, who also happen to be extraordinarily talented vocalists. \nMeg Groff\, best known for her sultry jazz vocals is the daughter of executive director Bethany Groff Dorau. Ella Suchecki\, a celebrated singer/songwriter\, is also the visitor services assistant at the Museum. These two rising stars will fill the evening with song\, with the support of the superb Chuck Walker Trio\, for one night only before Ella leaves to complete her studies at Salve Regina University. \nThis event is a fundraiser for the intern program at the Museum of Old Newbury. Your ticket includes delicious appetizers and desserts\, one token for a signature event cocktail\, wine\, or fresh\, local Ipswich Ale (additional beverages available)\, and first-floor walk-through evening tours of the 1808 National Historic Landmark Cushing House. \nA members only event! DESCRIPTION:Hailed as one of the finest interpreters of the Sinatra sound in the world\, Rhode Island native Michael Dutra has been performing his tribute to Frank Sinatra across the nation—from Las Vegas to Miami to Boston—since 2002. Boston Globe columnist Wesley Morris remarked that “his sound is velour to Sinatra’s velvet. You really can’t tell the difference.” Ron Della Chiesa of WPLM Boston Radio and Sinatra Guru adds\, “Michael literally channels Sinatra.” \nMost of Michael’s influence comes from his dad. “Dad was always singing Sinatra songs throughout the house\, and I would remember the lyrics and join him from time to time\, even at the early age of 7.” \nMichael performed at the world famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City opening for Howie Mandel. He continues to perform nearly 275 nights a year in clubs\, dinner theatres\, performing arts centers\, corporate events and private parties. His true passion comes out when he is performing with his own Strictly Sinatra Band. Michael recently recorded the vocals for a “Twix candy bar commercial” being viewed in South America by millions of people every day. \n“His sound is velour to Sinatra’s velvet.”\n– The Boston Globe \nPlease Note: For some non-classical concerts\, the window behind the stage may need to be covered for acoustical purposes.
