SUMMARY:Portrait of a Sculptor: Walker Hancock & Michael Lafferty
DESCRIPTION:Walker Hancock was one of the premier American sculptors of the 20th century and a highly engaged and respected member of the Cape Ann community. Michael Lafferty is a skilled photographer who spent hours photographing Hancock in his Lanesville studio\, creating a series of intimate portraits of the sculptor at work. SUMMARY:The Whalemobile
DESCRIPTION:Let’s learn about whales! \nWalk inside a life-sized\, inflatable humpback whale where you’ll learn all about these magnificent creatures. Learning about whales is also a great way to think critically about how you can become an ocean advocate\, to help the wild world and our oceans. \nSign up to visit to The Whalemobile at 11 AM\, 11:30 AM\, or 12:30 PM. Prior to the program date\, participants will be sent an introductory video about whales and The Whalemobile (this video will also be available for viewing inside the museum.) When you come to the museum\, you’ll have a 30-minute visit seated inside the giant\, inflatable humpback whale with a naturalist and educator. There will also be time for questions! \nThis program is recommended for ages 5+.
