SUMMARY:Jackie Flynn
DESCRIPTION:Jackie Flynn is an actor and comedian with prominent standup appearances\, as well as extensive film credits to his name. \nJackie has emerged as one of the funniest and most talked about comedians to come out of Boston\, joining the ranks of Steven Wright\, Denis Leary\, Lenny Clarke and Jay Leno\, and gracing the stages of the IMPROV\, COMEDY STORE\, FLAPPERS\, LAUGH FACTORY\, and other noteworthy venues. He has parlayed his success as a stand-up to firmly establish himself in the film and television arena\, featuring in several episodes of the hit series “The King of Queens\,” and recent guest appearances on “Veep” on HBO and the Disney Channel’s “Bizaardvark.” Jackie is currently seen in the series regular role of “Tony” in “Loudermilk” (3 seasons on Netflix)\, which is Peter Farrelly’s directing foray into television. \nHe is also one of the proud winners of the prestigious San Francisco Comedy Competition\, as well as a featured performer at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival gala. He was chosen to perform at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen\, Colorado produced by HBO. \nEarly on in his career\, Jackie was discovered on stage in Boston by the Farrelly brothers\, who have since cast him in back to back roles in “King Pin”\, “There’s Something About Mary”\, “Me\, Myself And Irene” “Shallow Hal” and “Stuck On You.” Jackie has had prominent roles in “The Three Stooges”\, playing opposite Kevin James in “Here Comes The Boom\,” as well as the movie “Mall Cop” Jackie recently shot “The Worlds Greatest Beer Run” in Thailand \, starring along side Russell Crowe\, Bill Murray and Zac Ephron\, and recently “Ricky Stanicky” with John Cena and William H. Macy. \nJackie’s golf background\, popularity from a national Phil Mickelson commercial\, and relationships on the PGA and celebrity golf circuit\, make him an often requested headlining comedian for affiliated and corporate event entertainment including Bay Hill in Orlando FL\, Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles CA\, The Hideaway Golf Club in Palm Springs\, CA\, Trump Doral in Miami FL. Morgan Stanley\, Hertz\, IBM\, Intel and Yahoo to name a few. \nJackie is truly a “comic’s comic” whose refreshingly unique brand of sarcastic observational humor puts him in a class all his own\, apart from the many derivative cookie cutter comics plying the airways today. Audiences young and old appreciate his wit and rapid-fire “take no prisoners” delivery.

SUMMARY:Ted Leo
DESCRIPTION:Ted Leo is one of the finest songwriters of our generation\, even if it’s not entirely clear what generation that is. \nStarting in New York Hardcore with Citizen’s Arrest\, making the ‘90s safe for power-pop and Weller-esque hair with Chisel\, then singing our turbulent lives like we were smarter than we were with The Pharmacists\, and most recently providing equal parts sweetness and solace with Aimee Mann as The Both\, Ted never let us down. And now\, seven years after The Brutalist Bricks\, he has a new solo album. And it’s wonderful. \nThe songs on The Hanged Man\, recorded at a home-studio-in-transition in Wakefield\, RI\, with Ted playing almost all the instruments\, are some of the finest and most finely wrought of Ted Leo’s career. Ted describes the time working on the album as one of “personal desolation that felt fallow but was actually very fertile” and\, indeed\, lyrically\, The Hanged Man is suffused with hope of sorts but crushingly heavy. The concerns addressed\, whether personal trauma or the national disaster we’re all currently existing in\, matched with the range and vitality of the songcraft is inspiring\, even uplifting. \nThe Hanged Man offers the sharp bursts of skinny tie pop-punk fury one would expect from Ted—and even these feel streamlined like never before—but they are offset with an adventurousness in both tone and structure. The intention was to upend expectations but\, on songs like the bookends of “Moon Out of Phase” and “Let’s Stay On The Moon\,” the intention never gets in the way of the result. There’s no strain of effort in songs that are unlike anything Ted has done previously. The Hanged Man is a career high\, born through industry soul sickness\, nausea-inducing crisis\, and a talent that feels like secular grace.

SUMMARY:Shoebert’s Unfinished Journey
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the true story of Beverly’s beloved gray seal\, Shoebert’s Unfinished Journey is a joyful new family operetta by Arpeggione Ensemble. \nWhen Shoebert the seal found his way to a former mill pond\, he unexpectedly galumphed into the world of another Schubert—composer Franz Schubert\, whose songs celebrate mills\, water\, and fish. \nIn Arpeggione’s heartwarming production\, Shoebert is a seal who loves music. As he searches for his own song\, he encounters remarkable figures from the history of the North Shore’s shoe and textile industries\, from inventor Jan Matzeliger to artist Virginia Lee Burton. Along the way\, he discovers not only a song\, but a place to belong. \nFeaturing two extraordinary singer-storytellers\, live chamber music on period instruments\, and original watercolor illustrations\, this charming production celebrates Beverly’s past and present with humor\, heart\, and imagination. Created as part of Beverly 400+\, Shoebert’s Unfinished Journey is a delightful experience for children\, families\, and anyone who loves a good story. \nThe operetta has been developed in collaboration with the Beverly community\, including the Beverly Council on Aging\, Northshore Education Consortium\, Ayers Elementary School\, and children who helped create artwork at Arts Fest Beverly. \nThis program is funded in part by a grant from the Beverly Cultural Council\, a local agency which is supported by Mass Cultural Council\, a state agency; by a grant from the Mass Cultural Council; and by the generosity of many individual donors. \nStory and illustrations by Andrea LeBlanc \nMusic arranged by Thomas Carroll \nAurora Martin\, soprano and narrator \nDaniel Fridley\, bass and narrator \nAndrea LeBlanc\, flute \nThomas Carroll\, clarinet \nEmily Hale\, violin \nAnna Seda\, cello \nApril Sun\, piano

SUMMARY:Music Ghosts of Jupiter featuring Nate Wilson of Moe.
DESCRIPTION:Ghosts of Jupiter\, a New England-based band\, has a rich history built on a foundation of progressive rock and psychedelic soundscapes. \nLed by current moe. keyboardist and founding member of Percy Hill\, Nate Wilson\, Ghosts of Jupiter formed in 2011. Their self-titled debut was met with regional success and critical acclaim\, leading to live performances with rock giants like Blue Öyster Cult\, Robert Randolph\, and moe. \nIn 2016\, their second independent album\, The Great Bright Horses\, solidified their sound and earned them a spot as the year’s #2 progressive rock release by the blog “prog is alive and well.” The album drew comparisons to the experimental prog of King Crimson\, the psychedelic exploration of Pink Floyd\, and the modern sounds of Tame Impala and Dungen. \nBuilding on this success\, Ghosts of Jupiter released their 2022 album\, Keepers of the Newborn Green\, on the legendary Berlin label Nasoni Records. The album received further critical acclaim\, including a five-star review and feature in the UK’s “Shindig” music magazine. The band supported the release with performances at the Adirondack Independence Festival and opening slots for psych-rock legends Earthless. \nThe current lineup features Nate Wilson on lead vocals\, keyboards\, and flute\, Thomas Lada on bass and keyboards\, Barrett Goeman on drums\, and Pierre Aleksi on guitar. With an unwavering commitment to touring and recording\, Ghosts of Jupiter continues to push the boundaries of modern psychedelic rock. \nLearn more: ghostsofjupiter.com

SUMMARY:Danielle Miraglia
DESCRIPTION:Danielle Miraglia comes armed with a strong steady thumb on an old Gibson and an infectious stomp-box rhythm with tunes ranging from heart-felt to socially conscious that will move both your heart and hips. Her latest “Bright Shining Stars” debuted at #15 on the Billboard Blues Charts. \nCascade Blues Association calls it “… tough as rawhide\, but smooth as blended whiskey.” Released Oct 2020 with Vizztone Label Group\, it’s a solo acoustic folk/blues record that highlights the one-woman-band live sound she’s honed over the years\, featuring guest appearances by talented friends Laurence Scudder\, Peter Parcek and Richard “”Rosy”” Rosenblatt. It includes originals as well as a collection of songs she covers at live shows\, paying homage to influences like Big Bill Broonzy\, Bob Dylan\, Janis Joplin and more\, plus the title track “Bright Shining Stars\,” written by her husband\, Tom Bianchi. \n“Americana and blues practitioner Danielle Miraglia wisely avoids fuss and clutter on her latest album\, Bright Shining Stars. Fingerpicking and strumming on acoustic guitar are central to her sound\, with percussion frequently provided by the infectious stomp of her foot. Three of the 11 tracks here are solo recordings\, reinforcing a truism that the artist frequently has proven on Boston-area stages: A charming voice and fluid guitar prowess are all an artist needs to keep a listener rapt.” – Bobby Reed\, Downbeat Magazine \n“Straddling the line where folk/roots meets rock/blues\, Miraglia has a voice that can go from a raspy come-hither purr to an Etta James-esque powerhouse belt\, although she may be best known for her lead thumb — a heavy\, thumping strike on her Gibson that’s backdrop percussion in itself.” – Lauren Daley\, The Boston Globe

SUMMARY:Billy Prine Presents the Songs & Stories of John Prine
DESCRIPTION:Billy Prine is a natural-born storyteller just like his late\, great brother John Prine was a natural-born songwriter. John was a great communicator of the human experience whittled down to the best words. His big\, little brother\, owner of a rich\, booming voice yet full of subtleness\, is one of the finest orators you’ll ever hear – also choosing just the right turn of phrase. \nDuring these concerts celebrating John’s life in song\, Billy will tell stories about or surrounding some of John’s most beloved songs before leading his band through his version of John’s timeless masterpieces. As an example\, fans will get to hear the first time John played his classic song “Paradise” for their father as the family sat around the kitchen table. \nSongs are stories\, novellas\, if you will\, and stories often become songs. It is only fitting that in the course of each show during this tour\, that Billy relates – as only he can – the stories that surround the songs of his dear brother John. \nWith special guest\, Scarlett Egan.
