Working with randomly selected audience members\, without prior information or cues\, Michael will accurately identify the current circumstances of a person’s life and the conscious and unconscious obstacles preventing him or her from overcoming them and moving forward. \nMichael has a warm\, relaxed manner and an easy sense of humor\, making the evening equally fun and astonishing. A psychotherapist\, Michael is the author of several books including his latest\, Postcards from the Cosmic Club of Everlasting Souls\, a poignant and funny memoir about his niece\, Marina\, and their journey of love\, loss\, and navigating the afterlife.

The play is the story of six of these children and chronicles two days of their lives at the Terezin concentration camp before being deported to Auschwitz. The drama takes place during the International Red Cross inspection of the Terezin concentration camp on June 23\, 1944. Each of the six characters signifies one of the six million Jews who perished during the Holocaust. \nWhile the play suggests the grim reality of what lies ahead for the children of the camp\, it is also a portrait of the unabashed ability of hope that lies in the heart of a child\, and the triumph of spirit many were able to achieve through their relationships and their artwork. The play is an impassioned work remembering the more than one million children whose lives would so horrifically be stolen by the Nazis.

Woody reads books and keeps the woodstove firing. \nUnbeknownst to them\, the homeowner\, a dear friend confined to a nursing home\, has quietly passed away. Enter her estranged daughter Daisy with husband Jimmy\, a high stakes gambler who’s just lost everything\, including their Massachusetts condo. Daisy and Jimmy are the home’s new owners who have arrived to move in—and Jimmy has a dark secret that’s about to track him down. \n“Daisy on the Mourning Moon” is a new play from Mainer Michael Kimball. The North Shore Readers Theatre is a play development program run by The Actors Studio of Newburyport that presents staged readings of new plays to an audience who then offer playwrights feedback on their scripts. \nMichael Kimball received the John Gassner Award (New England Theatre Conference) for his play “Duck and Cover.” His play “Ghosts of Ocean House” was one of three finalists for the Edgar Award (Mystery Writers of America)\, and his novel “Undone” was a London Times top-ten bestseller. DESCRIPTION:The Full Moon Stories Continue! Storytellers and audiences are enjoying The Actors Studio of Newburyport’s (TASN) eighth season of true-life stories told without notes or props on themes ranging from synchronicity to pronouns. TASN’s Full Moon Story Slam is modeled after NPR’s Moth Radio Hour. It is a story telling competition with a few simple criteria for both the official judges and the audience to vote for their favorites. \nThe Full Moon Story Slam has been a consistently popular event since its inception\, so much so that\, during Covid restrictions\, it expanded nationwide as a Zoom event. \nThe Slam is our chance to gather as friends and share true stories from our lives. Simply put\, a story slam is a competition based on the art of storytelling. It puts a dual emphasis on content and performance\, encouraging storytellers to focus on what they’re saying and how they’re saying it. It is an exercise in crafting stories within a set time limit – and it is great entertainment!
