SUMMARY:Garrison Keillor Tonight
DESCRIPTION:Garrison Keillor Tonight is an evening of stand-up\, storytelling\, audience song\, and poetry. \nOne man\, one microphone. There are sung sonnets\, limericks and musical jokes\, and the thread that runs through it is the beauty of growing old. Despite the inconvenience\, old age brings the contentment of LESS IS MORE. Your mistakes and big ambitions are behind you\, nothing left to prove\, and small things give you great pleasure because that’s what’s left. (“I was unhappy in college because it was a requirement for an intellectual\, but then I went into show business and discovered that people won’t pay to be made unhappy\, their kids will do it for free.”) \nThere is the News from Lake Wobegon\, a town booming with new entrepreneurs\, makers of artisanal firewood and gourmet meatloaf\, breeders of composting worms\, and dogs trained to do childcare. But some things endure\, such as the formation of the Living Flag on Main Street\, citizens in tight formation wearing red\, white or blue caps\, and Mr. Keillor among them\, standing close to old neighbors\, Myrtle Krebsbach (“Truckstop”) and Julie Christensen (“Bruno\, The Fishing Dog”) and Clint Bunsen. And an a cappella sing-along with the audience singing from memory an odd medley of patriotic songs\, pop standards\, hymns\, and ending with the national anthem.

SUMMARY:Leftover Salmon
DESCRIPTION:Few bands stick around for thirty years. Even fewer bands leave a legacy during that time that marks them as a truly special\, once-in-lifetime type band. And no band has done all that and had as much fun as Leftover Salmon. Since their earliest days as a forward thinking\, progressive bluegrass band who had the guts to add drums to the mix and who was unafraid to stir in any number of highly combustible styles into their ever evolving sound\, to their role as a pioneer of the modern jamband scene\, to their current status as elder-statesmen of the scene who cast a huge influential shadow over every festival they play\, Leftover Salmon has been a crucial link in keeping alive the traditional music of the past while at the same time pushing that sound forward with their own weirdly\, unique style.

SUMMARY:Tab Benoit & Anders Osborne with Special Guest Mike Zito
DESCRIPTION:TAB BENOIT \nOne of the most impressive guitarists to emerge from the rich Bayous of Southern Louisiana in recent years\, Tab Benoit’s guitar tone can be recognized before his Otis-Redding-ish voice resonates from the speakers. He doesn’t rely on any effects and his set up is simple. It consists of a guitar\, cord\, and Category 5 Amplifier. The effects that you hear come from his fingers. \nANDERS OSBORNE \nBetween the potency of his richly detailed songwriting\, his intensely emotional\, soulful vocals and his piercing\, expert guitar work\, New Orleans’ Anders Osborne is a true musical treasure. He is among the most original and visionary musicians writing and performing today. Guitar Player calls him “the poet laureate of Louisiana’s fertile roots music scene.” New Orleans’ Gambit Weekly has honored Osborne as the Entertainer Of The Year. OffBeat named him the Crescent City’s Best Guitarist for the third year in a row\, and the Best Songwriter for the second straight year. Osborne also won Song Of The Year for his composition\, Louisiana Gold.

SUMMARY:Slippery When Wet - The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute
DESCRIPTION:Slippery When Wet – The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute was formed in 2003 by Jason Morey after answering many inquiries of “Are you Jon Bon Jovi?”. Most notably comedian Dave Chappelle invited Jason backstage following one of his comedy shows thinking that he was the New Jersey icon. It was then that Jason knew he had to take advantage of the resemblance. \nIt’s a good thing that Jason grew up on some of the best classic rock albums such as “Slippery When Wet” and “New Jersey”. Not to mention that he was also playing a few Bon Jovi songs in his widely successful tribute to the halcyon days of metal “The White Leppard Crue”.

SUMMARY:Kenny G
DESCRIPTION:That’s not necessarily a revelation\, but more like a huge understatement\, and it really comes into focus at this point in Kenny’s amazing career. This is a musician who has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide\, owns the best-selling instrumental record of all time with 1992’s 12-times-platinum Breathless\, has the number one Christmas record of all time with 1994’s 8- times platinum Miracles\, and whose song “Going Home” has\, improbably\, become the official end-of-work-day anthem in China. At the heart of those achievements is Kenny’s ability to convey deep emotional resonance with his saxophone\, a skill never more apparent than on Innocence\, his 20th studio album and fifth for Concord Records. \nThe 12-track project’s theme is lullabies\, which have existed for thousands of years not only as a means of soothing babies to sleep but also to impart cultural and familial traditions. “Lullabies are very special to me\,” says Kenny\, who has been mulling an album with this musical focus for several years and even mentioned the idea in passing in Penny Lane’s acclaimed 2021 HBO documentary on him\, Listening to Kenny G. “They hold a special place in my heart. It’s the melodies. They are beautiful and timeless and whenever I hear them\, wonderful memories start rushing back to me.”

SUMMARY:The Mavericks – Moon & Stars Summer Tour ‘24
DESCRIPTION:Any band that manages to survive three decades\, seeing its core members go from young adults to veteran musicians is bound to have its swings and cycles. \nThe Mavericks\, the eclectic rock and country group known for crisscrossing musical boundaries with abandon\, has gone through three distinct phases since it was founded in Miami in 1989. An initial period of heady success marked by big hits and critical acclaim in the ‘90s. A long hiatus starting 2003 when the musicians each went their own way. And finally\, a triumphant reunion in 2012 which held long enough for them to recently celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary.

SUMMARY:A Bronx Tale w/ Chazz Palminteri
DESCRIPTION:*THIS PERFORMANCE IS A ONE-MAN STAGE PLAY* \nBronx-born and raised Chazz Palminteri wrote A Bronx Tale in 1988. The powerful one- man stage play depicted his bruising childhood which included witnessing a gangland killing when he was nine years old. Palminteri played 18 characters and brought them all to life in his autobiographical play. His friends\, enemies and family came alive on stage. Hollywood Studios went crazy after seeing it and offered him millions of dollars to turn it into a major movie. There was one catch… They wanted to put a star in the role of Sonny and someone else to write the screenplay. With $200 dollars in the bank…Palminteri said No… he would hold out and wait. He wanted to play Sonny and write the screenplay. Then one night Palminteri walked into his dressing room and sitting there was Robert De Niro who just saw the show. Robert DeNiro gave Palminteri the chance he was waiting for… And as they say in Hollywood the rest is history. Palminteri wrote the screenplay for the film A Bronx Tale and then most recently wrote the book for the Broadway Musical. It was the first time in history that the same actor wrote the one-man play\, the movie\, and the Broadway Musical and starred in each one. In the past 35 years\, Chazz has appeared in over 60 films. To name a few – The Usual Suspects\, Analyze This\, Mulholland Falls\, Jade\, Guide to Recognizing Your Saints\, Legend\, and Bullets over Broadway\, which he was nominated for an Academy Award. He has starred in over 20 television series and has won 3 Emmy’s. Chazz is most recently seen in Modern Family\, Godfather of Harlem\, Law & Order and Gravesend.

SUMMARY:The Wailin' Jennys
DESCRIPTION:The Wailin’ Jennys Are Nicky Mehta\, Ruth Moody And Heather Masse — Three Distinct Voices That Together Make An Achingly Perfect Vocal Sound. \nStarting as a happy accident of solo singer/songwriters getting together for a one-time-only performance at a tiny guitar shop in Winnipeg\, Manitoba\, The Wailin’ Jennys have grown over the years into one of today’s most beloved international folk acts. Founding members Moody and Mehta along with New York-based Masse continue to create some of the most exciting music on the folk-roots scene\, stepping up their musical game with each critically lauded recording\, and thrilling audiences with their renowned live performances. \nIn 2004\, The Wailin’ Jennys released their first full-length album 40 Days to great critical acclaim\, netting a 2005 Juno Award (Canadian Grammy) for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year. Bolstered by their frequent appearances on Garrison Keillor’s public radio show A Prairie Home Companion\, The Jennys exploded onto the roots music scene\, performing at packed venues across Canada\, the U.S. and throughout the world. \nThe Jennys’ sophomore album\, 2006’s Firecracker\, served as a powerful follow-up to their career-making debut. Artistically\, the record found The Jennys stepping out of the folk realm and into the world of alt-country\, pop and rock. Garnering much attention\, it was nominated for a Juno Award and won a 2007 Folk Alliance Award for Contemporary Release of the Year. Firecracker had legs\, spending over 56 weeks on the Billboard charts. \nThe trio’s 2009 release\, Live at Mauch Chunk Opera House\, also spent over a year on the Billboard bluegrass charts. That landmark live album bottled the lightning of The Jennys’ live performances with show-stopping harmonies\, impressive instrumental prowess\, breathtaking songs and\, of course\, witty stage banter. \nFor 2011’s Juno-winning Bright Morning Stars\, The Wailin’ Jennys joined the ranks of Lucinda Williams and Emmylou Harris and recorded with award-winning producer Mark Howard. Co-produced by frequent Jennys collaborator and Juno Award-nominated David Travers-Smith\, the album combined fresh and innovative sounds with the band’s signature harmonies — a perfect mix of Americana\, pop and traditional folk that has become a modern classic. Bright Morning Stars took home the Juno for Roots and Traditional album of the year in 2012. \nIn 2017\, The Jennys turned 15 years old. To mark the occasion\, the band took time away from the demands of motherhood to record and release a celebratory album for their fans: Fifteen. A carefully curated collection of some of their favourite songs\, the new record was recorded true to their live show sound with their long time beloved side players\, Richard Moody and Adam Dobres. Steeped in the artistry and elegance that has defined their career\, the album presents the Jennys at their very best\, highlighting their heartfelt vocals\, otherworldly harmonies\, and sophisticated arrangements. Fifteen was nominated for a Juno award in 2018 for Traditional Roots album of the year. \nThe Jennys are currently on tour\, while also road testing new songs for an upcoming studio album. \n“The Wailin’ Jennys are more than just impeccable bluegrass harmonizers; they’re also terrific bandleaders who give their traditional roots music a sense of real reverence.” — NPR

SUMMARY:Rodrigo y Gabriela
DESCRIPTION:Grammy Award winning duo Rodrigo y Gabriela grew up on an eclectic mix of classic rock\, heavy metal and flamenco\, a rare alchemy of influences that still informs their work today. Not long after the dissolution of their first band\, the two musicians set off with their acoustic guitars and ended up in Ireland\, where they soon ran out of money and began busking on Dublin’s Grafton Street — a turn of events that led to their crossing paths with Irish singer/songwriter Damien Rice\, who then asked them to open for him at an early headline show. As they developed their distinct breed of guitar music\, Rodrigo y Gabriela quickly gained recognition for their extraordinary live show and made their full-length debut with 2002’s re-Foc. Along with turning out 8 additional acclaimed and kaleidoscopic albums over the years: including Area 52 (a 2012 effort made with a Cuban orchestra)\, 9 Dead Alive (a 2014 release that spotlighted their more rock-leaning sensibilities) and the 2020 Grammy winning Best Contemporary Instrumental Album\, Mettavolution\, the duo has cemented their status as a globally renowned live act. Among their many successes: performing at The White House for the President and First Lady of Mexico at a 2010 event hosted by Barack Obama; headlining the Jazz World stage at Glastonbury; selling out major venues like the Hollywood Bowl\, Red Rocks Amphitheatre\, London’s Royal Albert Hall\, Radio City Music Hall\, and the Sydney Opera House; and performing to massive crowds in such far-flung cities as Tokyo and Paris. 2023 sees the release of their most ambitious project yet\, the Advaita Vedanta inspired In Between Thoughts…A New World\, which features their signature dual guitar attack augmented by a full orchestra\, and a corresponding world tour.

SUMMARY:Couples Therapy
DESCRIPTION:True fact: We all start out female in the womb. Don’t believe us guys\, just look at your chest – It’s the reason you have nipples. Has that sunk in? 22 of the 23 pairs of chromosomes between us are identical. In fact\, there are only about 78 genes that separate us. In Couples Therapy we explore and exploit these differences in all their magnificent and hilarious glory. \nCouples Therapy is a 90-minute theatrical show led by a pair of married\, relationship experts who dynamically take on several characters and skits throughout the performance. From start to finish the performers interact with the audience both directly as well as through response surveys that are completed prior to the show. It is truly a unique and clever combination of theatre\, stand-up comedy\, and improv that is as funny as it is insightful. \nAudiences go on a hilarious and interactive ride as the relationship experts attempt to help couples with their relationships\, but as the show wears on we see that they have more problems than their patients! \nAnd fear not guys\, this is not one of those beat down sessions on men. Instead\, we equally explore\, appreciate\, and laugh at the differences between men and women. Couples Therapy offers endless humor packed with practical relationship advice rooted in science and psychology (we really did our homework!) So strap in\, as we don’t just break the fourth wall\, we smash right through it!

The New York-based quartet performs a diverse mix of The Floyd’s extensive 16-album repertoire\, complete with faithful renditions of popular hits as well as obscure gems. \nWith stellar musicianship and passionate delivery\, The Machine explores collective improvisation rivaling that of an early 1970’s Pink Floyd\, while their use of expanded theatrical elements and elaborate stage displays and lighting continues The Floyd spirit of the 1980’s. The band is also known for recreating entire albums as a part of their show\, accepting requests from fans\, and for taking an A – Z approach in which one song is played for every letter of the alphabet. \nThe Machine has sold out theaters\, premier showcase rooms and casinos across North America\, Europe and Asia\, performed at renowned music festivals such as Bonnaroo\, Riverbend\, and Gathering of the Vibes\, and shared the stage with full symphony orchestras\, including the Atlanta\, Detroit\, Pittsburgh\, Jacksonville\, Charlotte and San Diego Symphonies\, as well as the Buffalo Philharmonic. \nThe band features founding member Tahrah Cohen (drums)\, longtime bandmates Scott Chasolen (keys\, vocals) and Ryan Ball (guitar\, vocals)\, and newest member Chris DeAngelis (bass\, lead vocals). The band continues on to celebrate the music of Pink Floyd and to honor the life of Joe Pascarell\, who co-founded the band with Tahrah in 1988. \n“They duplicate the sound and hits of Pink Floyd with chilling accuracy\, and they play for a hell of a long time.” – Matt Diehl\, Rolling Stone \n“These guys are great!” – Bob Ezrin\, Co-Producer\, Pink Floyd’s The Wall \n“The Machine look nothing like Pink Floyd\, but that doesn’t matter – they sound exactly like Pink Floyd\, and that’s what counts.” – Matthew Webber\, Spin Magazine

SUMMARY:The Jayhawks
DESCRIPTION:The incredible harmonies and distinctive arrangements of The Jayhawks set them apart from the rest of the Minneapolis music scene that emerged in the 1980s. \nOver the course of almost 4 decades\, 11 albums\, countless memorable live shows and enough personal drama to fill a couple of Behind the Music episodes\, this beloved band soared to heights few ever achieve while winning the hearts and minds of numerous critics\, fans and peers in the process. \nAfter releasing 2 Indie albums in the 80s\, The Jayhawks had  become a driving force and inspiration behind the growing Americana movement in the early 1990s. Combining the talents of singer-songwriters Gary Louris and Mark Olson\, The Jayhawks released their major label debut\, the acclaimed Hollywood Town Hall (1992) on the Def American label. This was followed by Tomorrow the Green Grass (1995)\, which produced the alternative radio hit single “Blue.” \nWhen Olson left to pursue a solo career\, Louris singularly took over the songwriting role in The Jayhawks creating the band’s enduring sound on some of their best selling and well-received albums including Sound of Lies (1997)\, Smile (2000) and Rainy Day Music (2003). \nLouris continues to write and tour with the longtime core group of Marc Perlman\, Karen Grotberg\, and Tim O’Reagan. While the touring line-up has changed over the years and Olson briefly reappeared in 2010 to record and tour\, this classic lineup maintains a commitment to excellence and forward motion in their shows and in their recordings. Paging Mr. Proust (2016)\, was produced in Portland with Peter Buck and Tucker Martine and found the band moving in several new exciting directions. The band’s 10th studio album\, Back Roads And Abandoned Motels\, was released in the summer of 2018\, featuring Jayhawks versions of songs Gary Louris had previously written with other artists plus 2 new compositions. In July  2020 The Jayhawks released their latest album\, XOXO\, that features songwriting and lead vocal contributions from all 4 core members. \nThe Jayhawks have made music in 4 different decades and are as vital now as they were in 1985. They definitely have earned their reputation as a true American treasure.
