Founded in 1955, the North of Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc. (NBCVB) is a private, nonprofit, membership based organization responsible for promotion of Essex County as a premier, year-round travel destination. Established by legislation as one of Massachusetts’ Regional Tourism Councils, NBCVB is the official liaison between the North of Boston region and the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism.

Additionally, we operate the Maria Miles Visitor Center on I-95 southbound in Salisbury, where our offices are located. As part of the traveler support network across the State, we provide comfort, referrals and critical information to more than 300,000 travelers whose first step into MA is at our Visitor Center.

The NBCVB has a membership of more than 200 travel and tourism related businesses located throughout Essex, Middlesex and Suffolk counties. Our members include accommodations, dining, event and wedding planners, event spaces, photographers, arts and cultural organizations, for profit and not for profit businesses, whale watches and so much more.

We work hand in glove with other destination marketing organizations, chambers of commerce, local legislators and elected officials and more to showcase all the stunning assets of our diverse region. Because at your CVB, we know that every area North of Boston, from Saugua to Salisbury, Methuen to Rockport and all the areas in between are loaded with areas to explore and businesses to frequent. And, working together, we’ll continue to attract millions of travelers who spend billions of dollars in Essex County each year. We’d love the opportunity to discuss membership with you. Please feel free to contact a member of our team for more information including the value of membership and the power of tourism as an economic driver North of Boston.
