The DubTone Orchestra is not your typical 17-piece Big Band! It’s New Orleans meets the Caribbean: the big, brassy horns of the French Quarter colliding with the Rocksteady beat of early Jamaica! It is Reggae and Ska, Calypso and Dancehall, Latin and Jazz, all in one! Their eclectic mix of covers (from Bob Marley to Paquito D’Rivera!) and original compositions will put the beat in your feet and have you dancing all night! The band was formed in the summer of 2020 with the intent of bringing together as many of the musicians in the Northeast who were professionally active in the Jamaican and Afro-American music scene. This is the Northeast’s premier New Orleans and Caribbean fusion Orchestra! The performers featured in the group have collectively recorded over 40 albums and toured 67 countriesacross 6 continents with artists like Toots Hibbert, The Skatalites, The Toasters, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Morgan Heritage, Steel Pulse, 10 Ft. Ganga Plant, The Elovators, Heavy Metal Horns, Groundation, Rebel Tumbao, Liquid Revolution, Westbound Train, Big D and The Kids Table, The Slackers, The Void Union, Attractors, Mile 21, and many more! The group features Carlos Menezes Jr, vocals/trombone (Jambalaya Horns, Cape Ann Big Band, Mile 21); Matt Jenson, keyboards/vocals (Groundation, Rebel Tumbao, Liquid Revolution, Thaddeus Hogarth Band); Thaddeus Merritt, bass (Westbound Train); Jake Pardee, guitar (ROJI, various artists); Jesse Hayes, drums (Void Union, The Attractors); Rich Graiko, trumpet (Westbound Train, Void Union, The Attractors); Mark Berney, trumpet (Skatalites, 10 Ft.
