Marblehead Art Association Solo Exhibits Opening Reception

Discover inspiring artworks at Marblehead Arts Association’s Opening Reception on Sunday August 9 in these Solo Exhibits by Juried Artists – Lucia Balinbin, Annette Sykes, Jessica Murdock, Christen Mailler, and Richard Honan, as well as “The Spirit of ‘76” themed Artist Members exhibit. Admission is free and complimentary refreshments will be served, with opportunities to view the exhibits and meet the artists.

This show includes abstract work by Balinbin using acrylics, collage and graphite in “Unbound Abstractions”. Sykes uses pastel, watercolor, and oil to tell stories of “Antique Hunting with Bob”. In “Expression of Gravity”, Murdock explores the human form in pastels and chalk, and Mailler deconstructs water, light and land in “Shorelines”, while Honan creates intricate pieces with gifts from the sea in “Driftwood Art”.

“The Spirit of ‘76” is a special exhibit celebrating this country’s 250th anniversary. Channeling the 1876 classic painting by Archibald Willard, this curated collection of artwork by MAA Artist Members broadly explores themes such as patriotism, resilience and legacy in various art forms.

These exhibits run thru Saturday September 19 and galleries are open Wednesday to Sunday 12-5pm. Donations gratefully received.
